Admittedly we did get that Facebook competition where you could go and do Bon Jovi kareoke........

But the only way to win was to:
a) not have a job and spend all day doing the same thing over and over
b) have 500+ Facebook "friends" to send an invite to, resulting in bonus points

Naturally, someone who matches criteria B is usually also matching criteria A :D

Each extra country has extra laws, duties, taxes, etc. so they would pay more in legal fees to add a country than the value of the prize.
It's not a conspiracy, it's just logistics and common sense.

Mostly it's just playing it safe. Your basic competition will work in any country, but they don't want to go through the hassle of sending prizes around the world. The only time I understand these restrictions is when the prize is a trip or a flight or something like that. CD's, books etc. can be shipped with reasonable price to anywhere. I don't think the legalities are a problem. And I know something about this, since I work in an advertising agency and we're publishing dozens if not hundreds of these each year.

I think it's because bon jovi IS actually a he .....most fans don't like it but the power to be think the whole thing is a HE ...Jon's business , Jon's band , Jon's song , Jon's history... kinda annoying but many fans defend that saying no big deal or without Jon there is nothing
