Aw, man......
Are those really the lyrics from Undivided? The 'that was my brother lost in the rubble' part? I really don't want stuff directly realted to Sept 11th. I mean, it's definetly gonna rock, but still....

"That rubble" was practically in Jon's backdoor. How could Jon and Richie watch the smoke billowing with their OWN EYES, not just on TV like most of us, and NOT write about it? If you don't want to think about the travesty, don't listen to the song. But how could you expect or even want them as songwriters to not address something that so profoundly affected them?

Iīm sorry, man. But this album is definetely going to be related to September 11th. Itīs fact. But itīs going to be positive, donīt worry :)

I think they have steered away from the album in general being about it but the song Undivided is about the tragedy. This was an event that has defined the millenium thus far and it happened in view of where Jon and Richie were working. Jon personally knew people who died, just like Bruce Springsteen, the other Monmouth County resident who has written 9/11 material. I haven't heard Bounce but the sense I get is that, unlike The Rising, this album is about moving on as a stronger and more united world where Bruce deals more with the stories of the victims and survivors. I just saw Bruce, btw, and even with some of the somber material, the concert rocked and was very close to a Bon Jovi show in my mind so no worries about the new Bon Jovi.

I know what your saying, but I just don't really want a good song to remind me of one of the greatest tragedies in recent history. I can't be the only one who feels this way....

Maybe I am from a different generation by I still hum along to Crosby Stills and Nashe's song Ohio about Kent State shooting- you know "Four Dead in O-hio". I don't think these songs on the Bon Jovi album will have anything this obvious- LOL! 9/11 happened and its shadow is going to long over a lot of artists work for a long time I think. Seriously, I wish it never happened and couldn't be an inspiration but it did.

I think it's great that they're writing about it.. But I don't feel that this album is going to be FULLY September 11th related. Infact, I know it.
Some of you, well, a lot of you who don't live in the U.S. state things like "I don't care about September 11th.. It wasn't anything to me because I don't live in the U.S.!!!!" But isn't the loss of human life enough to make you even think? So many people are focusing on what could be negative about the album... Let's think about what could be positive. What do you guys think the new singles will be, just judging by the titles? Misunderstood sounds like a 'single-name'. |

Well said Taija!!

If the loss of life somewhere else was sung about by, say, an African singer, would anyone have a problem with it?When U2 sings about Ireland I don't hear, oh no, can't they just get over it. This was a significant event that happened in Jon's and Bruce Springsteen's backyard. Are they supposed to ignore it because you are sick of hearing about it?
