I love DLS, It would work great live, have the crowd sing the 'Dirty Little Secret' part and it could be the next It's My Life. It's got a great chorus and a nice rhythm. It should replace track #6 on HAND

maybe they played a little teaser or something if they played it for real that would be shockingly AWESOME!! |
as long as we are speaking of great HAND session songs - Nothing totally rocks - i still cant believe that is in the vault and been given away....

Eh, I've never really cared for any of the HAND outtakes. I think they get a tad overblown around here. Only songs on the record they could honestly replace are Wildflower and maybe Bells of Freedom.

but it's like that for all the 'naughty' songs it's really obsessional for some fans to get it .. they must fantasy that something happens between the singer and the receiving end ... DLS is obsessing many because of what is said in the lyrics and IMo it's not performed because of that as well ...not need to feed the beast there are enough fans losing it at shows upon nothing no need for Jon to add those well this is exactly How I feel about those called gems by fans .. they wouldnt be that great songs if the lyrics were not that graphic I bet on that ... for me all those graphic songs are meant to NEVER be performed (DLS is not as graphic as LMIB but to me it's obvious Jon is not comfortable with any songs with 'special' lyrics ) |
I don't know if it's been suggested (as I don't want to read the entire thread LOL) but how about assessing rarity as the average number of times it gets played:
total number of plays live/number of years since the songs release This would surely give a truer reflection of how rare a song really is? Even more accurate would be a total number of plays/number of shows since the songs release, although who could be arsed putting a list like that together? <cough>Seb?<cough> :D That could be the defining rarity list for the Jovi catalogue! |

For me, the song that I would pay 1,000,000 to hear live would be If Thats What It Takes!
But unfortunately, even if they did It nowadays It wouldn't be 50% as powerfull as the album version. I would kill someone to go back in time to 1995 and watch them perform this song live in Wembley! |

Particularly the bridge before the last chorus and they add that effect onto Jon's voice. There are fair few better songs on TD though IMO. From that album id like to hear My Guitar. |

Hearts Breaking Even and If Thats What It Takes for me are songs that deserved to be performed at least once... |

I love Hearts Breaking Even and always have. It does have an Aerosmith sound to it, but I think it's great. |

Just looking back at this thread and really hoping one or two of those mega rare songs can get a play (unlikely).
From the list, only 3 have been played in the last 6 months - IHLYG, BOF and TYFLM - apart from Happy Now and Thorn, which will most likely be taken off the list by the end of the tour. I'm wondering whether No Apologies and The More Things Change will end up on that list... has either passed the 25 play count mark? |
A friend of ours has said he won't got back to see a BJ gig unless they play If I Was Your Monther........ Needless to say, I suspect he's seen his last ever show already!

Dirty Little Secret ~ Would anyone consider?
Quote:
Wishful thinking, I know. Personally, I love this song and think it would be even better, performed live. ***Would anyone, going to the future shows, consider holding up a sign requesting this song, I would love to see how Jon would react to the sign/request ? ? ?*** PLEASE. And, thank you ... |
I got two out of my top three songs in Hyde Park - and those two, Dry County and These Days, are both songs that I actually had hopes that I would get to hear eventually since they still are 'in circulation' from time to time and not as rare as many of the songs mentioned here.
However, I somehow doubt I'll ever get to hear the third one live ever - Bitter Wine. :( |

Just some words from me; I like how people just check this site so often. There'll be a huge overhaul coming soon for the 1995 tour if I get round to finishing it (takes about 3 more hours I think). Salaam Aleikum, Sebastiaan |
Seb, It only takes you three hours to build a "time machine"?
rotfl I would love to go back to 1995 - I think I may have missed the very best days of this band while I was busy raising special needs kids and taking care of two elderly parents. Let me know if you can make it work - I'll be right there with you. :D |

I check bonjovi-archives.com for past setlists before I check any other site. It's all there. It's cool just browsing through sets from the past, and seeing how they really haven't changed much. Most of the staples on the New Jersey or Keep the Faith tours are still staples today.

Bumping this thread up again after the discussion about rare songs in the Sunrise show thread.
Check the first post for the full list which I've updated (I haven't included THINFS tracks just yet). There was talk about which song got played the least despite having some popularity as a single, I think while songs like TYFLM, TAALS and Everyday are examples of this, I reckon All About Lovin' You takes the prize. It's been played only twice. That's the lowest of all singles I think. What's surprising also is if you watch the video of it (link in the opening post), it sounds like the crowd eats it up! They love it. |

It really depends on the weight one assign to popularity vs. play count. |
