Stop complaining....but please do ask WHY?
So i come on here and as usual i see people complaining about the setlist of current shows and there are a couple things i would like to say, First.. THEY ARE NOT GONNA PLAY ANYTHING FROM THESE DAYS!!!!! Now i like these days and i think it is great, but they arent playing it so stop already! SECONDLY: They are not going to play obscure songs for the "Diehards" even though we would like them to.... you are not going to get a personalized concert, so for the one person that wants to hear "Always Run To you" from 7800 theres 40,000 that dont care, guess what? it isnt gonna happen! Now here's what i think we should all do... ask logical questions... such as... Why did Bon Jovi only play 2 ballads the other night? Is it Jon's voice? is it personal preference, is it management? i dont know... but it makes for good discussion instead of bitching all the time. Why only 4 songs from Bounce? why so many from Crush, but to hear people get upset really bothers me, i've only seen the band once and i am afraid that when i see them next month i'm gonna be disappointed because of some people on here that are never satisfied. One last thing... who cares about the stage, the set etc? who really cares... i think it looks cool, but if they had a regular stage like in the "Bad Name" Video would it really matter? i dont think so. So for the people out there that call themselves fans... remember why you like the band.

I agree with the songs...they should be playing more songs from Bounce than Crush. This is the Bounce Tour, after all. With a new tour comes all the old complaints. It'll blow over eventually I hope.

Let's not make set list assumptions on one concert in Japan. I agree with you that we are not going to hear a lot from These Days or a lot of rarities but I do hope the set lists change as the tour goes on. I agree, ask questions, but in the realm of reality.

Never say never -- they have, on occasion, thrown things in from These Days when the mood strikes them.

I gotta say i agree all these complaints based on one setlist. To be honest i`m a totally devoted fan but i`m not gonna complain about setlists or where they play or dont play. To be honest i`m just grateful i get to see the best band i`ve seen live as many times as possible and if they didnt play near me i`d go where they did. To be honest i`m starting to wonder if i am actually a bon jovi fan as i`m just happy they`re still around and i loved bounce. Perhaps i dont complain enough to be a fan cos thats what i`m starting to think .

Some of us are just happy to see the band, there are songs i want to hear and songs i would rather not hear, but i would never come on here "disappointed" with a concert or a setlist because like i said i have seen them once and counted the days since that concert (july 17th 2001). Theres 39 days until the next greatest day of my life and im not going to come on here and read about people being upset and disappointed about setlists or the stage layout. It's been noted yes japan was only 1 concert and there is a chance (slight) that they will play music from these days, however PLEASE PLEASE keep in mind that some "diehards" are just happy to see the band and it really puts a damper on our expierience, i understand people have the right to their opinion and thats fine, i just wont be coming here because my concert will not be ruined :)

After all, we are lucky that the guys are touring again and still making great albums! See you on the road! |
I for one have been critical of the set-lists from the opening shows in Japan. My criticism is based on the fact that I believe the guys have had enough time to prepare for this tour and re-invent the live show. The fact that they dropped Shout from the 3rd show is encouraging. IMHO of course!
One my other favourite bands is KISS. Sadly since the reunion tour the setlists for a KISS show are very predictable. I don't want BJ shows to become like that! IMHO of course! I still love the band and would cut my right arm off to go to any of their shows regardless of the setlist - I'm just airing my opinion. You can still do that in this forum can't you? |

I think it's the WAY people have been criticising the set lists and such that is getting frustrating for some people. I, personally, don't get upset when people talk about the set lists being so predictable and unvarrying anymore. I do, though, get upset sometimes at the way people express that. It bothers me when I see posts saying that they suck and such. I agree that the setlists need to be revised. But, I don't think the band suck because they haven't. Does that make sense??? I also feel that even though we want the setlists to change.....we all know that for the most part they won't be changed. Yet, we still choose to purchase tickets to attend the shows, knowing that we will get a somewhat similar show to those we've seen many times. Yes, it's disappointing sometimes to hear ISWID for the 100th time. But, at least I am getting to go to a BJ show and see them. That's the way I look at it. I think that sometimes we just need to have a more positive outlook. We are their truest, most die hard fans. If we can't support them then how can we expect others to???????? I'm not saying that we all jump on the band wagon and praise everything they do. There are songs I skip sometimes on their CD's (with the exception of the NJ album. No songs to skip for me there.) I'm not greatly fond of the Bounce CD, but what can I do?? I still chose to buy it, just like I am choosing to go to two shows, possibly three, on this tour knowing I may see the same show three times. I'm just grateful that I have the means to be able to do that and that Bon Jovi are here to see. Sorry, I had to get some of that off my chest. It's been bothering me for the last week, seeing all the negative responses to the first shows setlist. I'm sure now, that I'll get criticised for my thoughts....but hey, I know that and I'm still choosing to post this. |
