I've been to shows- I didn't realise some lacklustre performances were 100% confirmation that he's struggling with booze. Next you'll be telling me the angle he wears his hat at lets people know exactly how many ice cubes he has in each glass.
And while I clearly stated that it was just an example, you seem very sure it didn't happen. Do you have access to Richie's medical files or know his doctor??? Do you have some inside information??? Like I say, an example- but no one here could 100% discredit that.

Listen, I'm not daft, I know why people are assuming it to be the booze. All I'm saying is not one person on this board knows the actual story, and there may very well have been something happen that had hit him for six and he's gone off the rails. Let's keep an open-mind about it, and not condemn him yet.

Ask name 2 members of Bon Jovi and most people will go, wait, it's not the one guy.

The Edge is hugely famous much like Brian May even though Freddie was THE frontman in Queen.

I'm pretty sure most people would be able to recognise the intro to Where the Streets Have No Name compared to anything Richie has done.

I think we have to agree to disagree over this. Maybe I am undervaluing The Edge's celebrity status, but if you really think Where The Streets Have No Name is more recognisable than Wanted and especially Prayer, maybe you are overvaluing it.

I think they are about the same. The thing is, Where The Streets Have No Name sounds like tons of other U2 guitar parts. Wanted Dead or Alive has a riff that was like nothing at the time: full blown acoustic. Same with Prayer. I would be willing to argue that Prayer has a more distinct and recognizable riff than Wanted. It's talkbox, it's different, not to mention it was a massive hit. Play most anybody that talkbox riff, and people will be thinking "Bon Jovi" right away.

Personally I am extremely sad and torn about all of this. For me Richie is exactly as important as Jon is, or even more. If Jon’s the heart and the head of this band for sure Richie is the soul. For me they are inseparable. It’s the magic between those 2 that makes every show a one to remember for years. If you take one of them out, the magic is simply gone.

So I hope and pray that Richie’s ready for the European part of the tour. If he’s not there, probably I will not go. Without him Bon Jovi is not Bon Jovi anymore, at least for me.

Well said man!

My experience of this site over the years is that most people are generally quite objective- we're certainly no Backstage- but it still surprises me that some people get a bit offended when someone defends the band and it's members or says something nice about them. It is a Bon Jovi fan site, I don't think there's anything wrong with standing up for Richie!

Sorry to quote this so late. I'm just curious, can't find a Nikki Lund on FB. Could you someone give me the link? If she really wrote that Richie was with here, all speculations about "Richie entering the rehab at the beginning of the tour break" are for nothing.

Had to make a comment on that :P. Sorry to interrupt the flow of the discussion!

Not forgetting "woaaw wah wah wah wah wah wah wowwaaawwwwooowwwwwwwh wa wa wa waaaoh"

That's Prayer by the way.

I completely understand if people arent going to go the show if they have to travel to get there, like Terri mentioned.

I just dont see why someone wouldn't go if it is in their home city. There really is nothing to lose except 3 hours? Maybe I see it differently because I live in Australia and we rarely get a good chance to see the band compared to people in North America.

I retract my 'stupidity' comment and will agree to disagree.

Still hoping for a speedy recovery for Richie.

Yeah but ppl could decide to go for $20 or $30 tkt instead of $300 or $500 pit seat if they know whole band is not there without Richie it's just Jon Bon Jovi and Friends show not Bon Jovi
