Urgh

Lost Highway was fine on the LOST FRICKING HIGHWAY TOUR, but please don't have it open now. It just hasn't the punch needed to open a Jovi concert. While I'm tired of Blood on Blood opening, I would rather see that any day over Lost Highway.

Rant over.

P.S: KeepTheFaith2211 should stay out of this, his opinions on this song as an opener aren't valid here. :D

I kind of like Last Man Standing as the opener. Or Blood.

LMS is a 'top 5' [one of many LOL] of mine, esp as an opener. Rotate LMS, Blood, Happy Now as openers. And actually LH doesn't suck as an opener....better as an opener vs middle of set.

Lost Highway is infinitely better when they do the jam near the end where Jon walks around and swings the guitar.

'Lost Highway' should open every show. It's a great opener and a great song!

Look at it this way...if it's played first, those of you who don't like it have got it over and done with quickly. ;)

Also, TwinFan, I think you need to stop trying to fight it. You know you love it! :p

Nowt wrong with it.

Agree completely. My loathing for LH aside, I have always appreciated them opening with a song from the album they are pushing. But being that I really dislike Happy Now, Blood on Blood worked well enough for the Circle tour (I think BrokenPromiseLand would ahve been better, but they didn't ask me). But now that it is the GH tour, open with a HIT. And no, Lost Highway is not a hit.
Use an electronic beat to walk out to (HAND tour style) and open with Have a Nice Day (okay not the best example of a hit, but it'd work nonetheless). Or even IML.... stretch out the intro or even change it up... okay now I am really dreaming. Or Keep the Faith it may be taxing on the vocals right out of the gate. But imagine the curtain rising to the bass line and swells.

If they'd just listen to me!!!

Like I said in the other thread, I think IML is the best choice (for the reasons I stated there)

They should have used a Circle track to open The Circle tour, then reverted to BOB/LMS for the GH leg as both work very well indeed. I guess Happy Now would have been the default opener as a Circle track, I guess they could have got away with WWBTF as well.

While I do like LH as a song, I would say it doesn't need to be played at every show, and it shouldn't be used as an opener for any tour after 2008. It just don't fit there anymore. While there is no real song on TC that appeals as an opener, maybe "Happy Now", I'm still fine with BOB. And to me TC and GH tour are the same tour basically, so I don't see why they shouldn't open with BOB anymore, or have to use a "hit" song. Bring BOB to Europe, I've yet to see my first show this tour and would very much like BOB to open! It's a classic, and lyrically, well, it is fitting and sets a good tone.
