I absolutely don't want to sound cynical but it's now, after Jons injury, time for the return of Richies solo song - whatever the reason is/was for its absence in the first place.

Letīs just hope the leg injury isnīt serious enough to have a lot effect on the show. But Iīd say itīs obvious that the audience in Denmark will mainly see Jon just standing behind the mic stand.

2008 they played at Gl Estrup which is a huge field not a stadium.

I really don't get everyone's fascination with Richie singing a song. His vocals have detoriated a lot as well and every single time he sang Lay Your Hands On Me it sounded shit with him forgetting the words all the time and Bobby not being able to copy the riff like he should.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I agree that his LYHOM wasn't very good, but I'd still love to hear him do IBTFY again. His vocals haven't deteriorated that much.

LYHOM was pretty shit.

Homebound Train worked well I thought, well with the people who knew the song anyway.

Yes they have, his voice is often completely shot, the last few times he sang I'll Be There For You he was merely shouting the lyrics instead of properly singing them. "Handi Whasn't The To Mhek Hoo Heppea!" is what you get when he sings it.

Exactly. And that's why he needs start singing a song again each concert. He needs to get back to rhythm since the rehab stint and if Jon forces him to sing lead on one song again, that might be kick in the butt Richie needs. Off course, for that to happen the song has to be other than LYHOM, it has to be more demanding. Stranger, HT or even taking IBTFY back would work just fine.

Yes, but he's sang a song every night since 2003, and he still flubbed up the lyrics and sounded half drunk sometimes. But it's no secret that his vocals have deteriorated. Just look at his backing vocals on songs like Blood on Blood and Wanted since 2005 or so compared to everything earlier.

But I agree about Stranger, HT, and IBTFY. I'm sick of LYHOM from him. I've always thought that Jon sounds better on vocals there, and Richie playing the riff in the verses instead of the barely-audible Bobby. Stranger and HT are great, but they cause a mass exodus to the bathrooms and beer concessions, especially in America. IBTFY would be a good choice (especially the 9 minute versions with the long solo at the end).
