Lifetime Journey Moments

To those who dont care (Seb et all) please skip to last paragraph - for the others the last lines for you :)

Getting to know Amsterdam, falling in love with the water, atmosphere, being a rookie in a hall of fame city , seeing another dear old friend, meeting new international friends and together witnessing possibly the final two ever, and quite possibly, in the historic and legendary Paradiso, the best Black Crowes shows I have ever seen….

Momentous…

Incorporating wonderful new DNA into the journey of life…..

Wow wow…..

Discovering the beauties of Copenhagen and then possibly my third favorite city in the world, Stockholm, while staying with wonderful hosts who opened their homes to us

Wonderful….

Hopping on a boat, just in the nick of time, meeting and having a blast with wonderful new people from all over the world, and experiencing the history, culture and character of the gorgeous cities of Helsinki, Riga, Gdansk, Visby, and oh yeah, St. Petersberg, Russia!!!

Breathtaking…..

Red-eyeing to Lisbon, seeing the city, joining 50,000+ people to witness the final Bon Jovi show of the world tour, with tingle-inducing rarities and lay-it-all-on-the-stage finality, capping what I think may be the best Jovi show I have ever seen…

PRICELESS….

Having to literally walk over 3 hours home because parts of Europe still cant get the masses home properly…

Uncool…….

Spending that final show in an atmosphere that can only be described as the most fun I have ever had at a concert – made possible by the blistering musicianship, undeniably better European setlists, unquestionably more enthusiastic and committed European crowds that just don’t quit - and that I have never experienced anything even remotely similar to before - , and most of all, the international coalition of friends that has fostered over a 20-year period of time, from what was once just a small little website from a guy named Peter, that descended upon the city and the show in all of their bouncing, infectious exhilaration at just being there with the music and each other….

---------------------------TRULY EPIC-----------------------------------------------

9 cities, countless new friends, beautiful music, much learning with wonderful experiences…

A journey of a lifetime

Thanks thx to all who shared the ride and stories…

Yet, your exuberance was barely hindered. I enjoyed that walk for the fact you were still smiling ear to ear and nothing was going to get you down.

What she said! ;)

Beautifully written post Marc! Especially the part about Lisbon. It was fantastic that you were able to join us on the trip. I'm delighted to have met up with you again. The last 2 nights in Lisbon, were my favourite of the 2011 tour!

Yup - I agree Carli.

Despite the walk a good time was had. And the only problem I had with the walk was worrying about Paul as I knew his knee was hurting. Otherwise I was glad to be out of the crowds.

All hail David and his GPS though - he led us through the night.

You must have paid a fortune for data service David to have been able to use it that much :(

No data service at all, just GPS. The map was already loaded into memory. So it worked like a compass. It loaded the surrounding area into memory when I searched using maps at the hotel, so I was able to leave the hotel wifi but still able to use the map to locate myself and see what street I was on.
