Extra Raw! Richie Sambora at The Grove
August 17, 2011 | Extra Raw

Bon Jovi rocker Richie Sambora stopped by The Grove to chat with "Extra's" Mario Lopez after his recent return from the band's record-breaking world tour. Sambora, happy to still be on top after three decades with Bon Jovi, said, "I walked onstage every night with extreme gratitude."

Going solo on Friday, Richie plans to take part in a special military show, and will give away 10 Voyage Air acoustic guitars to 10 marine heroes. "Me touring fifty countries... I get what it means to have American freedom, and these guys are fighting for our freedom, so it's my little way to give back."

I've never seen a fold-up guitar before. :o

But fifty countries? REALLY Richie? Try about thirty.

we all know that every member of Bon Jovi can be prone to exaggeration from time to time. Nice interview though.

Anyway, it's really nice of Richie to give something back like this, hopefully he'll put in an awesome performance on friday and we'll get to see some of it

I know, but something like that you don't **** up, and not by that much.

I'm surprised he didn't go further, say 100 countries. And i'm not so sure it's exaggeration so much as Richie just not having a clue. Considering he "knows" that they're the most popular band in the history of music it must have been a lot and 50 seemed like a reasonable number. He should really just adopt the Spinal Tap quote, "We toured the world and elsewhere."

Nice interview! Have to say that Richie looks really well and seems to be in a good mood! :D

Does it really matter how many countries he said vs reality? Seriously? Has JBJ really "seen a million faces and rocked them all"? After a while you probably forget who/what/where/when/why etc....it's another gig in another town (country) LOL.

If I may play Devil's advocate for a second, Richie may have meant over the course of their career from the context of the above quote.
