Naw, 2004. Even after Luke stopped working with the band after the failure of Bounce, he was still Richie's go to guy.

Can't wait to hear the full songs, hard to tell when you just hear a few seconds...!

Wait, Richie's songs sound like Bon Jovi? I'm shocked!

Richie going modern Pop/Rock ? I hear Daughtry, Nickelback and 30s to Mars (albeit it's not evident) all over it. The purpose of richie sambora releasing a solo record was to actually do something different !

This is the purpose of the indie thing too.

Was it really? When did Richie tell you this?

1. You've no idea what the album will sound like on the basis of four 10 second clips.

2. The purpose of the album was that Richie wanted to make a solo album. His album, his purpose. Don't confuse your desire for what the album would be with what the purpose of it was. That's unbelievably arrogant.

Again, I'd love to know how you know this?

All I've heard Richie say is doing it with an indie label allowed him to make the album he wanted to.

That's probably the problem right there....he's going to make the album he wants to make, not the album you insist that he makes. What an asshole he is.

Oh yes, things are certainly getting back to normal around here.

Actually, listen to any 10 second snippet of any Bon Jovi album of the last 10 years and you'll have a pretty good idea of what it'll sound like. It's not as if their songs differ in production much as of lately.

Yeah, but what's the point of making a solo album if you're going to make it sound like anything you've released the past 10 years? The whole point of Stranger and Undiscovered Soul was to expand his horizon and show a side we hadn't seen of Richie before. This album has nothing new to offer apart from mediocre middle of the road stuff no one gives a shit about apart from a select few Richie obsessed Bon Jovi fans. There's a reason he chose Ebbin as a producer, guys like them are hired to make it more commercial, as opposed to more artistical.

Here here.

Richie is not Jon, in the respect that Jon always seems to be chasing the next 'big hit' and wants to sell out the desert more than once. So, if his new album sounds modern and commercial so be it, it is because this is the type of music he genuinely wants to make. I wasn't expecting to hear another 'Ballad of youth', I'd like to think the man has changed a bit, along with the music industry, in 20 years. I don't think Richie has to 'prove' anything to us as fans, we will either like it or not, thats it.
