Nope, you're way off the mark there. This has been on the internet for months it just so happens that it was found by the majority today. They didn't want this to happen.

If it was uploaded by an member of the team, I do think they did it on purpose.
If you really want something to be kept secret you don't put it on the internet.

I don't think it is a screw up and and quite social media friendly.
Better to do it yourself than others doing it

If it'd not be a screw up it'd be the final product and not some products that haven't even been finished yet. And no one leaks stuff on purpose on as Sunday because there's no mass media to pick it up. Add the fact that it was deleted within few hours it's quite obvious this being a screw up. Common sense, people.

I think I just lost a few brain cells trying to process this comment. There was no way this was leaked purposely if you can even call it a leak.

I ripped them all with the thought of them being gone in a few hours. After having given it one listen I deleted all of it. It's too dire for words. Melodramatic lyrics and none of the songs have any identity, it all sounds the same and I felt there was no need to keep any of it. I'm not even sure if I'll buy it.

People just seem so afraid to expand themselves these days don't they?

So don't call it a leak. If you put something on the internet, someone else will find it.
Even though they deleted it. Many people have it by now.
If they didn't do it on purpose they are stupid.

Well stupid it clearly is, no one disagrees with that. There's a reason why albums still get leaked nowadays long before there release date. And I doubt many people actually do have it, considering the incapabilities of people getting stuff that's not fed to them by an mp3 download. The audience Richie is going for doesn't care about Richie, it's only a minority that will have picked up on this.

The tracks had varying numbers. The highest the first track ever got, before today, was 80ish listens. Before it got pulled it had around 2800.

If people really wanted it then they could get it. A quick google search shows you a very easy way to get stuff from Soundcloud, but yes I agree, most people are far too lazy to do that. I'm just surprised it took everyone so long to get it, it's been up there for ages, why they didn't remove it before I do not know.

Why using a social network service when you don't want fans to find it. If you don't want it, us a intranet or protect your account (but even this way people will be able to get it, just makes it harder)

I don't think it will sell well and I'm not sure about the quality yet. Even though I kind of like it, doesn't seem to have the depth of Stranger. Still better than I thought it would be.

Oh I'm not saying many people haven't heard it, but there's a difference to listening to a song and having a song. Of the 2.800, how many will actually have put in the effort of trying to download it? I'm sure a leak will show up within a few days but considering how many people in America see Richie singing as a sign for a bathroom break, how many people will actually care enough about the new stuff in a period where Bon Jovi is more about Jon than it has ever been? Just by listening to these pre-production versions it's clear that Richie is going for a direction that should target a larger audience than the one he went for in 1998. How much of that target will care about this in the first place?

Because believe it or not, there's still people out there thinking that not mentioning that something can be found somewhere automatically means that no one will find it in the first place. I've had bootleg downloads in my signature before, all you had to do was click on the image and you'd wind up at a download site. The image was clicked a total of 6 times because out of the masses out there, there were always the ones creative enough to think outside of the box.
