That's what I thought but when Richie Sambora says that it's out in September on national TV i'm inclined to believe him.

KeepTheFaith2211 05-12-2012 04:16 PM

It's only two months difference.

I really like this schedule. There's enough time for Richie to release his album and give it the promotion that he wants to give it, and enough time to get the new Bon Jovi single out and promote that (and hopefully promote it well for once).

Plus, a moderately successful Richie album should only increase hype for a Bon Jovi record.

danfan 05-12-2012 09:46 PM

Richie says new album and tour for March

He was on Entertainment Tonight last night and was discussing his solo album, Denise Richards, and the band. Didn't say much about his solo record, other than it being indie, which we already knew. But he did say the band is in the studio right now. The album should be out by March, with a tour to follow.

TheseDays2005 05-12-2012 09:49 PM

And why exactly did you feel the need to make a seperate topic for this other than feel 'special'?

bjmjpl 05-12-2012 10:52 PM

i appreciate the new thread and the info - nice job dan!

samboraisgodUK 05-12-2012 11:06 PM

I don't get the fuss around the "indie" thing. It's just an independent label, not an indie album.

2 months is a long time, especially when he is planning his own tour and the bon jovi album is hoping to be release march...and the fact that he claims the album is finished now.

if anything the sound of an indie album scares me. Richie has a great blues rock voice, im not judging until i hear it, but you seen what everyone thinks about when bon jovi tried something new.

You've missed my point. It's not going to be an indie album. It's going to be a blues/rock album released on an independent label.

It's been finished for months and he keeps adding and taking off songs. Christ, a solo album has been "finished" since 2003ish.

i know what you were saying, i know its being released by a indie label and it doesnt mean it is an indie album, but if it is im hoping it will work

This fall is going to be awesome. The longer I wait for this album, the more excited I am. It’s time to start saving for the Richie solo tour. I just have to hear him live. Also a good time to start praying for at least one show in Europe :)

Excellent news! The lack of a title was the only thing I hated about the album. I don't like eponymous albums if they aren't the debuts. I think an album should have a title.

Whilst I agree with your view on eponymous titles, I'm not so sure the title won't be Richie Sambora after all. I can still see it happening, although I hope not.

ticos_stick 05-15-2012 09:40 PM

Blessed?

Sounds about right ;)

Personally, unless his new title is really great, I'd rather it was just self titled. The fact he doesn't have Mercury behind the scenes should mean that this album is the real Richie playing what he likes to play. His name says it all.

Whatever he chooses it can't be any worse than Crush, Bounce or Have a Nice Day.

I thought Bounce and Crush were good... especially Crush. IT was youthful and didn't have a title track. It was mentioned on a b-side. Have a nice day was a weak title but the associated art work made it fit.

I think every band needs a self titled album but I am not a fan of them with a single (solo) artists. Weird huh? That's just me.

I actually like "Blessed" for a Richie solo album. It works if it works with the theme of the album.

BLESSED would be a great title.

I see Strats and Les Pauls. No Samboras. This is good.

The next 12 or so months should be fantastic for new music.

I KNOW

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!

Are these clips of the new album or songs no-one ****ing knows?

We could try ask him on twitter?

Captain_jovi 05-28-2012 01:06 AM

Some of the titles listed on the right have been registered at ASCAP for years and years but some of those are brand new. Some of the new songs we heard sound pretty modern.

I know, they sound fantastic. I'd extend it to the first four though.

agreed, the first four sound brand new production-wise and how his voice sounds.

DevilsSon 05-28-2012 01:22 AM

don't want to be pessimistic but sounds very very much like recent Bon Jovi stuff. I mean, the sugar daddy song, that's like a We Got It Going On rip off...and the other ones could easily be sung by Jon Bon and be Bon Jovi songs. I guess we'll see but if anything, this made me less enthusiastic about a Richie solo than I was before.

BonJovi100 05-28-2012 01:34 AM

1 - Fantastic
2 - Like part of Sober - Pink. I don't like
3 - Typical USoul ballad but it can be really great
4 - Something between Stranger and USoul sound. Sound good.

So for now:
1 / 3-4 / 2

For me it sound very like USoul and post USoul songs (like Willing To Try ecc).
