I salute you, TS |
Got the e-mail this morning and really liked the look of the deluxe album. Should have known that the BJ store would charge an arm and a bollock for it. Shame, it looks brilliant.
|
I just want a hoodie and a t-shirt without having to buy a bundle for both. Just gonna wait and see if they become available seperately.

platinum bundle ordered
after all the cash sent Bon Jovi's way, a little more for Richie is well.......a drop in the bucket Absolutely happy that Richie announced there will be US dates, can't wait. Dave |
Why artist which probaby sell 0.5 mln of his next album have box-set, vinyl, photobook ecc but band which sell albums in more than 3.5 mln or more don't have that??
|
Because the band release a new album almost every year since 2000, and for the guy in the hat as a solo artist it's the first one after 14 years, and, if it's not gonna be a success, probably the last one, so hey, give him the chance to make some serious money xD

Aloha !
No way I'm paying that much for that little. He seems to have forgotten that it's the music people want. No mentioning of any bonus tracks or demo's, it's all focussed on useless stuff like a photo's no one cares for. Salaam Aleikum, Sebastiaan |

The Band Merchandise Store I don't think there are any bonus tracks
Probably only Japan and few countries in Europe get that |

kind of confusing |
HMV Japan and the other japanese sites only show 1 bonus track which is Backseat Driver.
|
I heard Every Road on the radio today--The Pulse on Sirius XM. It fit right in with the other stuff they play.
|
The entire album including Bonus Tracks is available for streaming on Grooveshark site as well as Grooveshark app

I haven't really compared the tracks to the leaked version but this is the exact same order. I'm thinking someone just uploaded it there.
|
I finally decided to have a listen and so far, I'm pretty disappointed with what I'm hearing. There are a few songs where it sounds like Richie's voice is hidden behind effects, and the songs in general just sound like a wall of sound. There are a couple of tracks I do like, but as a whole I'm a lot less enthusiastic about picking this one up.

On amazon.com you can hear the samples from Aftermath Of The Lowdown, but, even if the sound quality of the samples sucks, I don't seem to find any difference with the leaked version... They're just 30 seconds clips though...
|
If the albums on Richies merch site have no bonus tracks then how can a japanese CD offer them

Every Road Leads Home To You was just on Radio 2. Ken Bruce said "You feel like you know that song already even though it's brand new, first play in the UK" He also just said "by Richie Sambora", made no mention of Bon Jovi which I found surprising.

Richie's at it again with his ''The stuff I wrote in my bedroom sold out stadiums in 52 countries across the world....' etc. This may be be true but still, give it a rest eh? I don't know if its just me, or is it because I have read a lot of these kind of interviews over the years, but I am tired of the same old cliché crap and soundbites. All artists sprout of the same type of stuff, but both Jon and Richie often come across as quite egotistical and big headed a lot of the time, and I take a lot of what they say with a pinch of salt nowadays! His album is good, with some great tracks..but it is not amazing I did cringe when he started talking about how great of a father figure he is to his daughter.. yeah drunken DUI incidents etc aside.. andi |

It's what I've said before; A divorce, a dead father, alcohol abuse, an ex-girlfriend, a daughter growing up, touring the world a bunch of times, seeing many different people and many different cultures and yet with all the emotions that are supposed to come with it the new record is very bland. There's 11 songs and it's only Seven Years Gone that showcases only a tiny bit of what has been going on in his life, the other lyrics is just a different bunch of cliches that shy away from really getting into the story he tries to tell. The past 2 years I've written about 16 songs describing the past 2 years and although I'm sure Richie won't go as into detail as I have, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt if he'd show a little more emotional than waking up with a hangover. It's a very American thing as well, pretend you're amazing, awesome, it's all very superficicial and indirectly it's the cause as to why half of America is always looking for help, the newer generations are living in a society that's run by people that don't accept failure so they've got all these emotions that aren't accepted by anyone. But you can't do that, you know. You've got to pretend you're invulnerable, pretend you've got everything under control. Don't let the emotions get out, pretend you're amazing. Because everything is amazing in Richie's life. He's divorced, has no one to come home to, and like you said, had a DUI incident with his daughter in the car, but let's keep repeating to everyone that it's all awesome. Eventually someone will believe it, right? People don't relate to perfection. People relate to imperfection, because it connects the artist to the listener. No one lives a perfect life, but Bon Jovi, just like it's yes-people at Fanclubmeetings sure would like you to believe they do. Don't critisize them though, because they'll give you hell for it. And the more truthful the critisism is, the bigger the hell you'll be living in. Salaam Aleikum, Sebastiaan |

Anyhow...particularly the drunken DUI incident. I spent a lot of time in California this last year because my girlfriend was living there. DUI seems absolutely NORMAL. It's insane. People have a bottle of wine, or 4 pints, and off they are, leaving in their cars. And that's equally true for young people, grown ups etc. It only becomes DUI if a policeman stops you, but that seems to be the case very rarely, otherwise no one would have a driving license. My girlfriend's dad had died early in the year in a car crash. He wasn't driving, but the driver had been under influence. It ultimately made things for the two of us very difficult and after 2 -3 months we broke up. Just the thought of getting into a car with someone who had some alcohol disgusts me. Taking your own daughter into the car after having consumed alcohol is beyond me. However, in California it's absolutely normal. |
What happened with Backseat Driven, Forgiveness street, Let’s discuss on the Phone and Our Secret Place?
|
Album got 6/10 in classic rock mag.
Said its safe but better than anything Jovi have done in the last 15 years. Also said it could be worse, it could be a JBJ solo album!! |
This info were published long ago.

Maybe not consider bonus track for this reason. Let's discuss on the phone has been eliminated as a bonus track. Total Music Box was preparing a deluxe version of this, rumored to include Our Secret Place. I wonder what has happened. All this has changed, or has not been confirmed. What song is this? . |
Live radio promo show for the new CD at noon EDT on Friday - http://www.xpn.org/concerts-events/free-at-noon

Just to add to this topic:
The album (physical CD) is already out for sale in Japan!!! Yesterday I did an eBay search and found the album is available already. "Forgivness Street" and "Our Secret Place" were left out, the only difference between the international release and the japanese one is "Backseat Driver" being that song the only bonus track, let's hope the songs that were left will be included in the singles or stuff like that. By the way, check the info, here's the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/RICHIE-SAMBO...item3f1c42a50c http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trks...japan&_sacat=0 |

I checked on Itunes Japan It has 12 songs with Backseat Driver being bonus song |
I do wonder what will happen with those songs. In the second ebay link it say 12 + bonus track. Anyway can't wait to hear it!!
|
Listening to the leaked version now. I have to admit - I might have been to critical the first listen.
There are some killer tracks on it. And some really weak songs. I'd be great to hear Seven Years Gone, Learning How To Fly and You Can Only Get So High live. |
