Ok that's a very basic question but : Why ???
Why does the band don't play much or even any song from the These Days album ? I will enjoy the shows I will enjoy the tour I always did and don't know why I shouldn't do this time ... but I am seriously asking what is wrong with the relation betwwen the band and THESE DAYS...?
for me it was their best album ... I am not sure everyone think like me but I DO know that a lot of very dedicated fans love THESE DAYS very much and think it's a fabulous album .... but what is wrong with it ? why are they like ashamed to play it ? It was a huge album in Europe and the tour was great too ... come on ... WEMBLEY in 95 wasn't it a FABULOUS show .... why does Jon denigrate this period ? This is not a complaining post I am just asking you : do you have any idea about why they don't want to play these days on stage ? |
I must say that when I was compiling the stats I was a little surprised to see that nothing from "These Days" had made the setlist. So your question is valid, sadly though I don't have the answers. Does anybody know what the sales of These Days were in Japan as compared to other albums? Maybe the answers lie there?

I mentioned this in another post... i would like to know if jon has ever said publicly that "He wants to forget that part of his life" or something along those lines.... i will say this... as much as i dont like the album i do love the song These Days and i think they should at least play the 1 song to kinda finish the setlist off....you know? include at least 1 song from everything after Slippery.

They play songs from These Days from time to time. But most songs on it are quite depressing and also slow and Jon wanted the last tours to be rock shows. Exept of Hey God there's no Rock song on These Days.

Hi Mireille! - My take is that the "These Days" singles weren't huge hits like many of their others and as they have such a huge catalogue of hits to choose from now which gets bigger with each album, it's hard to fit them all in the set! :D However, Jon does still put "Something to Beleive in" and "These Days" in the setlist occasionally and has been known to add "Hey God" once in a while too!
Hope this helps. |
This is just a gut feeling that I have, but I think that in Japan they play more older songs, and when they go to North America and Europe they tend to change the setlists somewhat. I haven't made any thorough research, and can't be bothered to do so right now, but I have the impression that the Japanese fans appreciate the older songs more, and now maybe the new ones, but the TD era wasn't very hot in Japan.

These Days ia a great album but it is the upbeat stuff old and new that made it in the USA and that is what you will hear here. I wouldn't rule out songs from These Days in Europe where the album was big, but I doubt we will hear much from it on the American leg.

did the guys accsally play These Days stuff on the OWN tour, not the CRUSHn tour???
And there were more rock songs on These days: DAMNED,SOMETHING FOR THE PAIN,IF THAT'S WHAT IT TAKES and I do also think that My Guitar Lies Bleeding In My Arms might be one of the best Live songs .... |
