After what I've seen and read you guys got two great shows! :-)

Words can't describe - especially the emotion at the end last night. I have seen several tour ends but this one was very emotional. I am so happy that I was able to be there.

As usual I am going broke buying the soundboard recordings.

Interesting.

I'm a huge Bruce fan but thought Barry Gibb did more justice to Bruce's song than Bruce did to his.

I can't listen to Bruce's Stayin' Alive. It grates.

Fixed that one for you. And I agree.

Just had a chance to listen to Bruce's recent professional bootlegs, in particular, Hershey and Uncasville, and was really dissapointed by the quality of this. A couple of months ago I listened to one of Australian shows (Perth I think) and the sound was just as bad there. So it's no coincidence. Max's drums sound especially bad.

What happened to his mixing? It used be so good. His NYC and Hyde Park DVDs both sound great to my years (Barcelona not so much) and his most recent release of Born In The USA live from London also sounded great. And yet this tour the sound is so terrible. Max has always been one of my favorite drummers and if I heard him for the first time in these 2014 tour recordings, he would be one my least favorite ones.

Any die-hard Bruce fan is willing to explain me what happened? It would be one thing if it was some amateur bootleg, but these are soundboard recordings that Bruce is selling as live albums (for 10-12 euros I think), so I don't think it's acceptable.

I am quite die-hard Springsteen fan but I cannot explain it to you, I even agree with you. The quality is quite bad for 80% of the recordings, 10% is good and 10% sounds fine. I think that the answer lays in the fact that they promise it takes 3-4 days for a show to come online. I doubt you can mix it properly in that time considering the plays more shows in 3-4 days then 1 so the mixing will get behind. Cash over quality it seems which is a poor decision. Overpriced soundboard recordings is what they are so far. I bought a few as I just wanted to have some of the live recordings of a few songs. It's more something to add to the collection then to really wanting it.

I salute you,
TS

Thanks for your reply!

Unfortunately, I think the issue is far bigger than the rushed release. Robbie Williams is actually doing the same thing - selling recordings of each show for the past few tours. I listened to a recent one as well and it sounded great! And he's actually releasing them as CDs in the venue just minutes after the show ends. So if Bruce is actually putting them a few days later, there's no excuse for such quality. It's just someone in 'the truck' is not doing his/her job well at all.

Seriously, these recordings make our Obie sound like a master :(

So I've been at the Wickerman festival over the weekend and after having to suffer Kt Tunstall murdering something off of Nebraska and Amy McDonald doing likewise with Dancing in the Dark I joked to my girlfriend that we should put bets on how many Bruce tunes were ruined this year.

About an hour into Shed Seven's set they announced they were going to cover Born to Run and they absolutely knocked it out of the park. It was joyus, life affirming stuff.

Anyhoo I can't find any uploads of it from the gig but I did find footage of them soundchecking it at a venue mid week that I thought you might dig:

What you say is true about Robbie. I own the recording of a Robbie Williams concert I attended. The quality indeed is suberb but, and this is an important but, the CD costs like 20 pounds/25 euros/over 30 dollars. I was with a group of 6 so we all payed our share but it is heavily overpriced. It's twice as expensive as Springsteens recordings though Robbies comes in a nice digipack (without tracklist), but still. It comes down to value for money and although I agree with that Springsteens recordings are overpriced for the quality they come in, the recordings of Robbie concerts are overpriced even more.

I salute you,
