That's an amazing article.

I agree with ticos_stick. 4 hours of BJ with Jon's current voice will probably bore me out real quick. In the end BJ will be more and more lost glory (despite the fun I still have at their shows) where Bruce keeps raising the bar and manages to live up to it in the end.

Plus Bruce and ESB rehearse a lot before tour starts Not sure how long they rehearsed for this tour but have heard 15-20 days as per some fans

Thunderstrucker 08-03-2012 11:32 AM

Indeed. They did rehearse in between shows. Nils also said in an interview when the tour just started that they were still 'polishing' songs. It must be amazing to have such a group of good musicians on stage with you that don't need much practice to be able to play a song. I don't know if they rehearsed so many days but I do know that they were polishing more and more songs of the catalogue from the first day the tour started.

I salute you,
TS

If you've missed the performance of Drive All Night from the first night of the Gothenburg-shows, enjoy:

Incredible! :)

I bought 'London Calling' (Hyde Park '09) on Blu-ray and it arrived on Thursday.

I've done pretty much nothing else but watch it over and over. I think I'm starting to become obsessed.

I never watch a concert on a disc entirely but always just choose some specific tracks. I also ripped the audio so I do not need the bluray to enjoy the music. I am happy to have Trapped and Racing In The Streets on disc now in good quality. I am also very curious if they will release a bluray of this tour and what show it will be.

Being obsessed to Bruce is never a bad thing bytheway ;-)

I salute you,

I agree with you. Usually on a concert disc there are four or five standout tracks. However, I only find myself skipping one or two on this one and just enjoying the ride. If he were to release a concert from this tour I'd be a very happy bunny. :p

Are there any other DVDs anyone can recommend?

I love Seeds from this show. The way Bruce tears into his solo brings a smile to my face. Great sounding DVD.

Live from Barcelona is phenomenal, the crowd are crazy and the band on fire. Live from New York is probably his best, the sound and performances are 2nd to none. They are both superior to the Hyde Park DVD in my view.

Get both for under £20 on Amazon.co.uk
