Leeds review

Shoulda got tickets grrrrrrr

3 fan requests back to back, nice work. Obviously Bruce cares more about pleasing the diehards(i'm not one of them) than the casuals.

I was thinking of you when I read this setlist and wondering if you were there.

It was relaxed (open rehearsal feel, I thought). Was always only get people who *really* wanted to press "buy" on the right ticket site within a minute. Getting near the end of the tour and letting off some steam.

This is the first Bruce tour I've really seen multiple shows and they've all had such a different character. Coventry was FIERCE - haven't got the link off hand but the BITUSA was from another planet. Leeds possibly above my level of Bruce dedication with the setlists and the relationship with the fans - ("Please play XXX for a bankrupt fan"). Opening with Roulette it was always going to be something for the long-termers. After so much work nice to let the music just wash and v. happy to have a picture to share.-

Every show is indeed different. Coventry was quite sombre but had a raw visceral energy to it. Belfast felt more like a party. I'm not sure which I enjoyed more but they were both totally different experiences and you can't get that with many other or maybe any other act. I think my favourite show was Dublin 09. I'm very glad I got to see the band with Clarence.

Secret Garden from Leeds:
This song should be played every night. Stunning.

That might well be the most beautiful piece of music I've ever listened to. It's always been a favourite of mine, and along with Back In Your Arms, is the song I most want to experience live. That performance was spectacular however. The piano being more noticeable was gorgeous and then Jake's sax at the end. Goosebumps the whole way through.

I saw this played at MSG in 2000 and I think that was the last performance until just now in Leeds. I can't believe that was 13 years ago

And yes - it's a gorgeous piece of music that deserves more airtime if you ask me.
