Me too. I wasn't that impressed to be honest. Not a memorable show for me.

Matthes 05-06-2012 12:21 AM

Yes!
I finally get two tickets for the show in Cologne. I'm really looking forward to this concert. :)

Thunderstrucker 05-06-2012 12:52 AM

Yes it was. Dissapointing was the last minute decision they took to sell out the entire stadium instead of only the half of it as that was the original intention as Bruce wanted to create an intimite atmosphere at first and then it changed and we ended up with horrible seats. The concert was good. I really liked the Reason To Believe version they did that your. This year I will have a 2nd chance :)

I salute you,
TS

That version of Reason to Believe in 2007 was incredible. I have not heard it since :(

Thunderstrucker 05-06-2012 01:15 AM

I believe he done it only a few times during the WOAD tour during the first leg but indeed it was never played again, pity.

So far it's first in line first in - no lottery. No early entry. Only Italy is rumored for that.

jbjhand 05-17-2012 02:30 PM

Thank you, so excited cant wait! :)

That's what Bruce is known for - and why we go to so many shows.

Exactly! you always know you gonna get something "special". :-) 6 more weeks now....can't wait!

Thunderstrucker 05-24-2012 03:17 PM

Nice to see Ramrod appearing again. I hope he will play that one coming monday as well when I'll be attending his show!
The people attending the shows in Barcelona never have to worry about a poor setlist ;)

I salute you,
TS

Thierry 05-24-2012 10:08 PM

According to a Dutch pay per view channel they might broadcast the full Pinkpop show. My tivo is already set up. Too bad the channel only broadcasts in sd.

Kathleen 05-24-2012 10:15 PM

We sometimes get part of the Pinkpop Festival in HD - if we do I will grab it with my Tivo. It probably would not be the entire show though.

Thunderstrucker 05-25-2012 05:24 PM

No broadcast can equal attending the actual show Thierry!

I salute you,
TS

ticos_stick 05-25-2012 10:25 PM

I think Bruce's management are pretty down on letting whole shows be broadcast, The BBC had to do some kind of deal to allow the Glastonbury set to be shown in full.

Thunderstrucker 05-26-2012 11:23 AM

Germany has gotten a tremendous show last night. Now I can't wait even more for Monday!

I salute you,
TS

Thierry 05-27-2012 06:01 PM

Yup ultra long set yesterday in Frankfurt.

Thierry 05-28-2012 09:03 PM

The management didn't allow THE broadcast of the Pinkpop show :(

Thunderstrucker 05-29-2012 01:32 AM

In the car back from Bruce now. Mixed feelings. Due it being a festivalshow songs had to be skipped. We didnt get JOAD and LOHAD but we got a nice version of the river. Bruce's voice was good, the performance seemed a bit on autopilot at times, as if they played Pinkpop to relax after the Germany shows. During American Land Bruce sang 'the germans' instead of 'the dutch'.
We got a lot of filler songs imo. What I enjoyed most was the Horn section and Jake clemons in particular. What a performer! The new songs sounded fresh where songs as radio nowhere, the rising, because the night and more sounded really overplayed.
I was happy to hear BITUSA but Bruce sang it without passion and it was played as if they were in a rush, very poor performance.

I had a good show and saw some of the Magic of bruce but the show needed a better flow to work for me. Too many uptempo songs were followed by a slow song.
I hope he doesnt play a festival next time as it doesnt allow him enough to work his magic.

Highlights:
Spirit In The Night (Bruce forgot the words at some point but a fan helped him remember them which was cool)
Waiting On A Sunny Day: I was surprised how many people knew the words of this song. He got a child out of the audience and set it on his shoulders sing the chorus. Then he said to the child to instruct the band and so the kid said: Come on band, which was nice to hear a child say to such a massive band.
Death To My Hometown: A song I hoped he would play as it is a real party live, especially thanks to the horn section.
Shackled and Drawn: Got a nice intro and when it kicked in it was picked up by the audience very quickly.
The River: My friend wanted to hear this song badly and he got it and it was a very good performance as well.
We Are Alive: Again a song to let the hornsection shine and so they did.
American Land: Always a party to hear that song and it got the crowd jumping a lot!

Letdowns:
No JOAD and LOHAD.
BITUSA was done poorly and I hoped for the song to be played so I was a bit dissapointed.

7/10 - Thanks to the great audience, atmosphere and the moments where Bruce really let the band shine, mostly during the new songs!

Songs that were broadcasted:
Death To My Hometown: Shackled and Drawn: Spirit In The Night: (without intro)
I'm On Fire:
I salute you,
Thunderstrucker

I know - and Paul kept bugging me about going to Italy for the shows this year. I tried to be sensible and say no - we can't afford to. And then Bruce goes and does a show like this. I should have been there :(

Mongoose 06-08-2012 11:56 PM

  1. Born in the U.S.A.
  2. Born to Run
  3. Cadillac Ranch
  4. Hungry Heart
  5. Bobby Jean
  6. Dancing in the Dark
  7. Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out
  8. Glory Days
not a bad encore I suppose (and that's not complete)

I don't think Jon has ever done a 3 1/2 show in his life - let alone multiple times. Though I understand your comment - one of the things that sold me on Jon was that he he had the promise of growing up to be like Bruce. Jon has gone in a completely different direction but on his best days he still puts on a hell of a show.

Yeah - me too. They only broadcast 6 songs but The River was not one of them if I recall.

Jim Bon Jovi 06-14-2012 09:49 PM

Loving it.

Got my transport all sorted out for London.

Getting an overnight bus home where you get your own bed. I'm going to crack open a bottle of red and pretend I'm on a tour bus :D

Yeah, neither Twist & Shout. Loved it to end the show, that encore was just amazing for a first time seeing Bruce :P

Jim Bon Jovi 06-14-2012 11:28 PM

I'm sure I've asked this before but is anyone else going to Hyde Park? Seems a bit strange that I'm the only one going here.

If the other 2 HRC's I've been to are anything to go by, there'll be no end of plebs and squares to keep me amused but it'd be cool to put some names to faces and grab a beer or 2, I've missed a few people down there every time I've gone.

I would join you if I could - this tour has been incredible.
