I'm not talking about being front row but good enough so i don't have to look at a big screen for hours.

cheers

STANDING! as for the time - depends on what show you're going to. Wembley - as it's a Saturday I'd get there pretty early to be sure to get a wristband (for the pit) then it's up to you if you want to wait in line for a really good spot or if the pit is good enough for you, you can leave and come back after the gates open

Picked up Greetings from Asbury Park last week and just sat down to listen to it properly.

Love it. I never expected it to be up to much since it's a debut but it's got some great tunes on it and you can already see where he's going to go with his songwriting up until Born to Run.

ticos_stick 12-07-2012 12:19 AM

Wrecking Ball has been named the album of the year by Rolling Stone Magazine - http://www.rollingstone.com/music/li...-ball-19691231

I just saw my first Bruce show ever last night, his last show of the leg in Arizona. WOW what a show! I was (and still am) totally blown away.

Yep. When Thierry was your age he still listened to the Spice Girls and Samson and Gert.

Hey what's wrong with the Spice Girls?

asok80 12-11-2012 12:01 PM

Scandinavia's going crazy for Bruce (as always)...

Second Oslo show just announced 29 April and THIRD Stockholm show announced for 11 May...just waiting for a second Copenhagen show to be annonced too I guess.

Panda 12-11-2012 12:17 PM

Why is it that Bruce tends to play the song "Born In The USA" in everywhere but the states? I would have loved to see that live... but he played it in Mexico for some reason.

Thunderstrucker 12-11-2012 01:12 PM

He played it when he was here as well as it was back in the set at that time. Though I have to say that I think he might as well left it out as it was quite a rushed performance. The heavy bass in the beginning seemed hard to mix together with the instruments of the band and they played it like he was in a rush. I'm glad I heard it live as it was on my 'want-to-hear-live'-list but it wasn't very 'Bruce-worthy' and not as special I hoped it would be. I can imagine he got fed up with it and took it out of the set again.

I salute you,
TS

ticos_stick 12-11-2012 09:48 PM

When he played BITUSA in Dublin the crowd went crazy and I thought it sounded brilliant, Max's drum solo fitted in perfectly and the light show topped it off nicely. I suppose it's impact depends on set placement. It was played as an encore opener when I saw it.

I think he doesn't play it in The US because most people think it's a hard line patriot song, when it's anything but.

Jim Bon Jovi 12-11-2012 10:12 PM

I saw BITUSA live and to be honest, it wasn't great. One of the few occasions when I prefer the album version to the live version from Bruce.

I think Tico's Stick is probably right about it too. Bruce has spent decades writing about Vietnam, the failure of the American Dream and in a wider context, the little guy being sold short.

I doubt he wants to be singing a song that is about how blind patriotism is stupid / America might not be all it's cracked up to be and your average man in the States gets a raw deal thanks to the powers that be just to see thousands of these people waving flags and screaming "YOO ESS EHH!!!!" back at him.

Panda 12-11-2012 11:04 PM

Thanks for the info.

Another question. I was at the Vancouver show and everyone seamed to be booing in between songs. What's the significance of that?

Are you sure were booing and not screaming "BRUCE"? I'm still a casual fan of his, but I've heard people do that in his live DVDs.

Panda 12-11-2012 11:38 PM

No, they were definitely booing. I've noticed this in other live videos as well.

Thunderstrucker 12-11-2012 11:50 PM

It isn't booing, it really is 'Bruuuuuuuuce'.
And for BITUSA, it opened the encore here as well and I was pleased to hear it kick in but the bass was too heavy and the song too sloppy.

I salute you,
TS

Jim Bon Jovi 12-12-2012 12:00 AM

It's definitely Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuce

Does my tits in.

Panda 12-12-2012 12:09 AM

I feel like a lot of people around me didn't understand that. Because I thought it was too, but all I heard was "booooooo"

That's the same thing I ran into at the show last week. I kinda figured after a little bit it was Bruuuuuuuuuuce but even Bruce looked a little weirded out after it became louder than the actual applause. The ones screaming it seemed to be drunken morons anyway, from what I saw.

asok80 12-12-2012 08:35 AM

It's def. Bruuuceeeing.... it's standard...but I was just as confused the first time I heard it....

This. I first noticed it on the Live in New York City DVD and got confused but immediately thought that it must be 'Bruuuuuce' that they are shouting as that's the only thing that makes sense.

I salute you,
TS
