(New York, NY-December 13, 2011¬) — Bon Jovi, Foo Fighters and blink-182 will headline The Bamboozle 2012, one of the East Coast’s oldest and largest music festivals when the three-day music and pop culture event is staged on the beach at Asbury Park, New Jersey, May 18, 19 and 20.

The Bamboozle will return to the beach at Asbury Park for the first time since 2003 and feature over 100 acts performing on nine stages spread throughout the beach and boardwalk including the renowned Convention Hall. Since its inception, The Bamboozle has evolved to become a respected institution within the music festival circuit.

Now in its 10th year, The Bamboozle has consistently featured the best musical talent from established to new artists spanning multiple music genres and has always been a one of a kind resource for artist development. Previously featured up-and-coming acts who have gone on to become break-out artists include Paramore, My Chemical Romance, Wiz Khalifa, Fall Out Boy, Jonas Brothers, and many more.

John D’Esposito, Vice President of Talent/Artist Development for Live Nation, said it’s “an honor and very fitting” to have Bon Jovi headline as The Bamboozle celebrates its 10th anniversary.

Bon Jovi has sold 130 million records and have played in over 50 countries to 34 million fans in their twenty year career. The band won a Grammy Award for the #1 hit single 2005’s “Who Says You Can’t Go Home,” which is currently used in the New Jersey state tourism commercials. Bon Jovi had the number tour in 2008 and 2010.

In November of 2010, Bon Jovi released Greatest Hits: The Ultimate Collection, featuring all of the band’s biggest chart-topping hits, the most beloved fan favorites, and four new tracks, including the lead single, “What Do You Got.” In addition, headliners the Foo Fighters and blink-182, two of today’s greatest rock and punk rock bands, will make their Bamboozle debuts. The Foo Fighters, who were recently nominated for six Grammy Awards for their 2011 album, Wasting Light and the multiplatinum, reunited blink-182 who released their sixth studio album, Neighborhoods this past fall.

Founded by New Jersey native D’Esposito, The Bamboozle was created more out of necessity than anything else. “I started The Bamboozle because I went to other music festivals growing up and felt there was a need for a pop-culture-oriented event that was diverse but also catered to a specific scene,” said D’Esposito.

As for the return to Asbury Park, D’Esposito said, “For the 10th anniversary, it was important to create an event that would leave a lasting impression. In order to do that we had to go back to where the seed had been planted, Asbury Park.” Additional performers will be announced in the new year for The Bamboozle, with more information to come about The Bamboozle Roadshow 2012. The annual “The Break Contest,” the official unsigned band competition of the festival returns and will be presented by Yuuzoo with the grand prize winner receiving a performance slot on the main stage and other prizes. The official announcement of the festival isn't until tomorrow (Tuesday the 13th), but it seems the lineup for the Bamboozle Festival in New Jersey has been leaked, and apparently Bon Jovi is headlining. I don't believe it for a second, because Bamboozle is not their kind of scene at all, they are not touring right now, and Bon Jovi just doesn't play many festivals.

The article that I was referred to still did not give the confirmation I was looking for, although the article specifies that JON Bon Jovi is headlining, and seems to confuse Jon as a solo act and the band Bon Jovi as the same thing.

Just a rumor, I know, but wanted to share with you all to get your thoughts. Definitely will be a strange turn of events, if either the band or solo Jon does end up playing this festival. But we shall see.

I don't believe it, either, though the first paragraph says Jon Bon Jovi, which would increase it's chances by about 5%.

To me it's doubtful too .... Jon Bon Jovi is the kind of info that makes you step back and think .. really ? Plus that festival it is so not their style ... the choice would be very bizarre and so far they are not touring or anything

The other headliners that have been "confirmed" are Foo Fighters and blink-182, which also just don't go with Bon Jovi.

That's the same link I posted in the original post. I just don't take the Asbury Park Press to be the ultimate confirmation in a situation like this.

However, I must say, if this is true...I will be flying to New Jersey for this festival. Bon Jovi + Blink-182 + Foo Fighters, and those are just the headliners. If My Chemical Romance is on this bill too, I am THERE.

Well, they did do Summerfest and Jazz Fest in 2009, both of which were in the Summer of 2009 when they weren't on tour and months before The Circle was released.

True, true. I would totally be happy if this turns out to be true, but I just don't believe it until I see the official announcement tomorrow. Bamboozle is just not the kind of festival I see them fitting in at. It would really surprise me if Jon agreed to something like this. Or that Bamboozle could afford them.

I don't really care, Bon Jovi and Foo Fighters in one festival is almost an uncontainable amount of awesomeness. Adding Blink-182 is crazy enough.
