'Unexpected' song placements that you think could work?

Basically, if you were making a setlist, and decided to mix it up completely, what unexpected song placements would there be? For example, if you had 'Wanted Dead Or Alive' as the third song or 'Livin' On A Prayer' after Richie's song, for example?

Personally, I think 'Something To Believe In' as a show opener would be immense. Hear me out. If it was a show for die-hards...it would work. It would be an epic opening with the slow drum introduction, and it would just build and build until the final 'hey, hey, hey hey' where the keyboard would cut out, and Tico would smash his crashes and Richie would go for the 'C' and they can move straight into 'You Give Love A Bad Name'. I really think you could play anything to a point as long as you follow it up with 'Bad Name'.

Always thought on the Bounce tour 'The Distance' would have been a good opener..a bit random but fresh! 'Hook me up' worked the few times they did it. And that was the tour they toyed with having Prayer midset...which was a BIG mistake!

Opening with Hey God would be awesome i think, plus the added fact that it would probably give all the diehards down the front a heart attack.

And I like ending the set on a slow atmospheric number, 'Letting you go' for example would work, in the same way This aint a love song ended alot of the TD shows.. just for that melancholic feeling!

Nah, KotM - that would cause everyone to have a heart attack. Or to walk out.

Didn't they open with prayer a handful of times on the LH tour? can't comment on how it went down though. I always thought Undivided could be a powerful opener, under the right circumstances. 9/11 or 7/7 anniversaries for example. DC could work on a similar merit to Something to Believe In...

I know it's a contentious issue for those in attendance but I really liked Love's The Only Rule as a closer, which was unexpected at the time though perhaps not so much now!

+1 Their best closer, after the two biggies of KTF or Prayer i think. Great minds think alike eh Jeza?

I am not a hug fan of HAND (song) but I always thought it would make a good opener. I think it works better live than IML and if it must be played, might as well open with it... beats the hell out of Lost Highway IMO. But I also prefer they open with a song from their most current album... Bounce being the best in recent years. I think Blood on Blood opened well too... especially not being a hit. Happy Now worked for all of the first 20 seconds then fell flat. Okay... this is not about openers.

I think every tour they should rework a forgotten song or two and bring it back much like they did with Raise Your Hands and Something For the Pain. And NOT like they did with Saturday Night or Radio. Dropping an octave (or re-writing like TLFR) doesn't count... it only ruins the song. I would like to see Say it Isn't So reworked and rotated in. Also, instead of dropping an octave on Santa Fe, I'd like to see them dropping the key from G to E. I think that would be doable for Jon.

IML opening, for reasons I've stated on here 1000 times before.

Hard Letting You Go once ended a BJ show, the last one in Germany 1996 in Nürnberg, and people who were there told me that they got unbelievable chills during that song in the end. So I can really imagine it being an awesome set closer! Just like the wonderful acoustic version of I'd Die For You :)

On another note: I think Runaway would be a good opener as well...

Radio Saved My Life Tonight as an opener would be killer!

At least that happened already :)
I can really imagine this one working quite well!

When I saw the MSG DVD the first time I was shocked how they cut "Blaze Of Glory" into the end of BTBMB, the spot of "Bad Name". But actually I think it works, and watching the DVD I enjoy this odd placement, that I believe would work in reality as well.
