What was the biggest WTF moment after 2000 ?
Since this board has been very quiet, due to the boys being on a break, I think this is a good topic to have some nice discussions about. But please, this is not about comparing the pre-2000 Bon Jovi with the post 2000 Bon Jovi, we've had enough of that already !
When I say the biggest WTF moment, it can be either a good or bad thing ... Looking back at the last 12 years, a lot of things related to Bon Jovi made me go WHAAAAAAAT ??? ... But two of them really stands out, and saddly, one of them was Richie's condition in 2007. That really got to me, I can't even watch/listen to that Unplugged gig in 2007, that was really really heart breaking. The good one was something that I think everyone in the Bon Jovi world had lost all hope of seeing: they brought the original version of Always back in Des Moines 2008. When I saw the video, I was completely speechless ... Jon's voice improved so much during the LH tour, that was a really good surprise to all of us. Regards Eduardo |
The whole two nights in Hawaii and watching the guy who live streamed part of the show on his iphone with songs like shot through the heart and Get Ready and Tokyo Road coming up. Having Richie doing Homebound Train in Seattle a couple days later. Seeing them tweet that they rehearsed Little Bit of Soul.. Hear them rehearse In & Out Of Love, Hardest Part Of The Night..Those were all huge WTF moment. Never thought I'd see the day. After that when they played songs like Let It Rock at the O2, I knew it was going to come and almost expected.

Santa Fe. WTF!!!
If there's a bad WTF moment...I think like Panda Pop said, it was the whole thing with Richie. Bon Jovi as a band have always seemed so beyond that kind of stuff, it was distressing to see. |
The biggest negative WTF moment was releasing Lost Highway...
The positive? There've been lots... all the shows I've been to were amazing! |
Agree with crashed. Santa Fe. Santa ****ing Fe.
As for negatives, I'd go with the dropping of the early songs so early in The Circle Tour. Those songs sounded great live (I would've loved to hear Shot Through the Heart, sadly was about 2 weeks late...), I have no idea why they dropped them. Sure, not many people know them. But the same amount of people know Captain Crash. |
Good - being 2 nights in Wembley in 2000 and hearing London Calling on night 1.
Bad - the weather in Manchester in 2011 made the whole VIP experience seem a bit drab. Performance was very energetic though |
Hearing Dry County in Manchester in, er, whatever year it was (help me out Kev!) and hearing the proper Always at Southampton in 2008..my life is complete!
|
Good - going to my first gig..manchester even though the weather was poor loved every minute of it!
Bad - only being 7 when this happened and missing it btw the set for that show was One Wild Night Raise Your Hands You Give Love a Bad Name In These Arms It's My Life Born to Be My Baby Always I Got The Girl Just Older Wild in the Streets Blaze of Glory Lay Your Hands on Me Keep the Faith Bad Medicine / Shout Encore: These Days Someday I'll Be Saturday Night Encore 2: I'll Sleep When I'm Dead Tequila Twist and Shout (The Isley Brothers cover) Encore 3: Wanted Dead or Alive Livin' on a Prayer Encore 4: Never Say Goodbye (Acoustic) to me that seems like the perfect set but ive only being following the shows since the circle tour. was it normal to get that back then? |
Biggest WTF moment in jovi history has to be their appearance on QVC selling their Bounce DVD... thing.
I was watching that thing just, it all looked so weird and uncomfortable for everyone involved lol.... |
+ Munich 2008--> Probably the best concert I've ever been to.
Hearing Dry County in Düsseldorf 2006. Acoustic show in Kiel 2003. The performance of Faith at the second show in London last year. Letting You Go and These Days in London last year. The moment when the drums of STBI set in in Barca last year - Releasing Lost Highway (especially ILTT) Jon's (sometimes) phony attitude "Superman Tonight" Not being able to attend the show in Frankfurt 2008 |
