Wembley Arena Chris Tarrent Thing...

Did anyone else go to this? I remember bits of it but seems so so long ago now, I can't find anything on YouTube!

I remember the other acts (more like support really but not billed as such) were AWFUL! The Appleton Sisters who were booed off, Mike and the Mechanics...I do remember (randomly) David Seaman making a brief appearance which was neat but odd.

I was there, a mini-gig for Bounce promotion. JBJ started in the middle of the arena if I recall correctly. I found the program under my bed a few weeks ago, I can't remember anything about how the other acts performed.

"Chris Tarrant's Capital Request" - 7 September 2002

I was there!!!
Actually thought Appleton were okay (says the bloke who actually PAID to go and see All Saints live once), and Toploader were reasonable. Hated the Paul Carack stuff though.

BJ set was:
Prayer
Bad Name
It's My Life
Undivided
Everyday
Bounce
Wanted
Keep the Faith
Bad Medicine
Shout

Didn't Jon start in the middle of the floor to everyone's surprise and then worked way through crowd to the stage?

That was when they did proper promo work - also did CDUK and Shepherds Bush within next 10 days (was at both of those too).

It may have been on the radio but there was never footage shown anywhere.

It definitely wasn't on the radio at all-and I don't think any footage was ever shown on TV/the internet. But there is a full bootleg of the show ;)

This was my first ever Bon Jovi gig! And thinking back on it, it was pretty bizarre - a thoroughly random mix of acts, a guest appearance by David Seaman (and Phil Collins on the screens, seemingly off his face), and if I recall correctly, Chris Tarrant doing a game where people had to guess what cars he was playing a recording of the engine noise of (I don't think I just made that up anyway!)

I remember it being a good performance by the band (not that I had anything to compare it to at the time), if far too short. Hearing Undivided for the first time was a great moment, ditto for Bounce, and I remember the other performances being solid as well. Shame they ended on a cover song ... little did I know that this wouldn't be the last time I'd see them do that!

Was there. Way too short a show but if Chris Tarrant had stopped talking pish to some footballer guy for so long Jovi could have got in an extra song or two.

Actually didn't mind Mike and The Mechanics.

Hated Toploader. Was my 2nd time seeing them after they'd supported Jovi at Gateshead for Crush. Hated the Appletons. Can't remember if anyone else was there or not.

It was a decent Jovi performance though and a nice way to kick-off my Bounce tour. Shephard's Bush blew this out of the water though!

I had forgotten Toploader were there! Yes Jon surprised everyone by appearing in the middle of the crowd, performing a few songs then heading to the stage. :)

I was there too ...I don't recall much of the other acts ... I was sit next to a young kid that was drinking like a nutcase by the time jovi came on stage he was totally wasted sleeping and snoring ... it's was a very fun show very close to shepherds bush gig ..I loved that period we stayed in london ..;those were the good times
