What does it mean the album is very social? They will use the terms Facebook, Twitter a lot?!
LOPrayer and WFWMan are typical social songs. It's all about people and world which they living in.

Jon played some songs from Crush year before they relased them. The Killers now play some songs from new album and we don't have album yet. I think it's something normal now. I would prefer rather first listen CD than song live.

If it's more Jon album than Richie?? Ok. I prefer Jons work than Richie. I love Crush and I love lyrics direction which Jon done on HAND (Jon said that he want to told stories aboud his childhood and many others from his life).
I'm tried to not be too excited because it's help to be more happy when record really works for me.

When Jon says that they cut 43 songs, he means that 43 songs have been recorded! I believe that they picked the best songs for the new album, and the new songs for the Al Pacino movie were recorded in those sessions by the band not Jon recording solo. I hope that some of the leftover songs make it on special edition albums just like they did in the old days.

Ok, I watched the videos... of course... :-)

And I like what I hear. It's good singer-songwriter stuff, and truely something different. I'm really curious about the final arrangements. I hope it captures a bit of this more raw, unpolished attitude that is promises.

But I fear with the new band album they really wanna play it safe and it won't have that acoustic touch... I mean, "What About Now" is a possible album title, and from what we've heard of that song before it's plastic pop, a cross between HAND and TC. Those titles like "Because We Can" don't sound too promising... let me guess, it'll be something along the lines of "Let's change the world... because we can... and live our lives..." ;-)

The whole recording process was unusually quiet this time, right? I mean, aport from some rumour here and there there wasn't much of official info from the band that they are in the studio, right? We got a snippet without knowing who played on it and what project it was for, and suddenly Jon says they cut 43 songs and the record is done. Well well. I'm actually getting a little curious about this whole thing now... ;-)

Exactly, 43 songs across the board (Richie, Band, Pachino, Big and Rich)

However, I think the Pachino songs are Jon solo stuff because he did mention something about doing a solo acoustical type album and I want to think that the completed songs are just Jon and a guitar (maybe some track fillers). No band is needed.

In addition, if 43 songs are going to be released, there is a good chance that the Pachino movie is a full soundtrack by Jon.

15- Band
15 - Richie
11 - Soundtrack (other movies)
02 - Big and Rich

But then again, who the heck knows. He could have ment 43 total for all 4 but only X made it to albums/releases.

Some months ago Richie said he had written about 33 songs for his own record. So, I don't think the 43 songs include the ones for Richie too.
They're just the band songs + the songs for the movie and the songs for Big & Rich.

they also wrote for other artists, i saw at least a couple of names last year through various fan sites. jon said they cut 43 songs...if thats no exaggeration i believe he meant they recorded that amount and not just wrote in a pre-demo status...impressive number, bj always were prolific, quality over quantity for sure but none of the less the number 43 is encouraging for me....(dont forget wanted was written along with another song, drive was called i think in a 3-4 hour writting session...). the recording went on quietly and 2 things come to mind...
1. jon said it took them long...a year, sth lenghty by bj standards and he also emphasize on the its done...cause through all this time he would revisit it and change things around, so what i got was that he is really happy with the result and was to move n to the other project than agonising til the march release...possibly he will revisit it though and may write 1-2 more songs till then.
2. sth that i really appreciate in bj, jon/richie in particular is their work ethic and their commitment to write new songs and deliver sth that will progress from album to album, even if they dont always succeed. THEY WRITE NEW SONGS, not just searching old/unfinished ideas from the glory days trying to recapture that magic...aerosmith's legendary child is an example...if you havent realese an album for 10 years and dont have material for one new/original first single then you are nostalgia as it gets...i love aerosmith by the way, i have listened only the first single so maybe i m ahead of myself but most of the old rock bands have a hard time composing/recording new material

I'm sorry, but there isn't going to be a full soundtrack CD from Jon. There is no way. You have to let it go.

I could put up with those 3 songs on a soundtrack but if that was an whole album it'd bore the f8ck outta me.

I like songs with a kick. I dont mind the odd slow song but an whole album? No thank you.

Then I have a slight hunch that you won't like the new Jovi album.

I subscribe to Classic Rock Mag. It came today and has interview with Richie and album review. The album got 6/10 but did say it better than anything Jovi have done in last 15 years. But that's not hard is it??
He confirmed the album (BJ) is done and the tour starts in March.
