As for Alicia Keys she'd get it. Not on a Bon Jovi album though
Are you sure?? I don't see anything about it in news about new Alicia Cd.
Richie put image with him working for Alicia but photo with Jon wasn't descrive like session for new BJ stuff??

New album - 43 songs / Circle - 29? / LHigwhay - 23? / HAND - ?? / Bounce - 23? / Crush - 60+ / BJ - TDays - more than 25 song that we never heard or we listen in bad quality. They have a lot of unrelased stuff.

New Box-set in 2014?? I don't think so. I heard that htey work on their last Box-sert in 2001. Now we don't hear anything ;(

They should just release a good quality recording of 'Borderline' for their 30the 30th anniversary and I'd be over the moon.

Who's to say it's worth listening to though? Although I do believe they've left some stuff in the vault for a possible second box set I doubt it's of any outstanding quality. It's not as if the last box set was just gem after gem and surely they're not going to release 4 discs with stuff like Prostitute and When She Comes.

Eh? The song has been released on a CD single, has later been remastered and has been re-released as a b-side on various singles. What quality do you want, really?

50% of that rare stuff had already been released before, I seriously doubt that with all the great stuff they have in their vaults they know where to look, there really has been no special version of any song on any of the albums apart from the rendition of Blood On Blood and In & Out Of Love. Considering how many awesome renditions of Keep The Faith there are out there and all Obie could come up with was a bog standard one I don't think he knows his way around their own archive.

Anything Jon laid his vocals on prior to '00 is considered great. And I do believe there is a bunch of stuff in there but Jon won't release it because he thinks its crap. He didn’t want to and was talked into putting Out Of Bounds and Outlaws Of Love (it was 2 80's songs) on there.

The only slim hope we have nowadays is that at least they don't have to physically produce CDs to release the sort of stuff we want. Previously, they would have to release it on CD- produce cover art and physically press them which puts the cost above the potential small returns to start with. At least now, live shows could be easily sold as a download direct from bj.com if they wanted to release it. I think we are a way off yet, but maybe at some point someone would find a better way of monetarising the vast Bon Jovi back catalogue and live recording vaults that they have available to them.

I think Jon knows very well how he could make a large profit of the vaults but doesn't want to because his vocals get worse with every tour, apart from the step forward from the HAND to the LH tour. Even during the Bounce tour there were plenty of performances of Sat. Night and Keep The Faith of which it's a real shame they were never released as possible b-sides.

Considering how there's a huge archive you'd think it was all sorted by tour, show, tracklist etcetera but this isn't true. There's bits and pieces stored here, there's some over there and there's no one who looks into the archive and treats it with the respect it's supposed to get and sorts it all like it's supposed to be sorted. I know McCartney about a year ago started to look into his own archives and is in the long process of setting up direct (limited) access to his vault.

Obie got the chance to really dig into the archives for the extra tracks on the special editions back in 2010 but all he could come up with was stuff that had already been mixed anyway. I'm sure there's plenty of unmixed masters from every show (as in seperate Richie / Tico tracks) but to put it all back together to one decent sounding thing is another.

There are plenty of bootleg collectors who'd love to just sit in the archives for a year or so and do it for free but Jon doesn't like looking back so we'll never get to hear any of it. Even the songs on One Wild Night were finished mixes, there was nothing on there that was put together from the archives, which is a real shame and a missed opportunity.

On the subject of the new album, having been away for a while can someone summarise what we know? Am I right in presuming that the song 'the fighter' is on the new album? Do we know if those songs Jon wrote for a film will be on the album?

Thanks!

Last I heard, no, Running and Old Habits are for the soundtrack and The Fighter is the last track on the album. If you go through the thread there are some tidbits as to other song titles. Does anybody want what's left of me is one, I'm with You is another (potential) single, Because We Can as the leadoff single and the album being called "What about now". I'd assume that song made the tracklist.

Wasn't Outlaws Of Love a demo for Faith?

Yea. I think it was. We Rule The Night was the other 80's song I was thinking of.

I'm not 100% convinced that Outlaws Of Love was for Faith. To me it sounds more 80ish. It could have been a demo in the 80's left for Faith.

Also, there is no way Billy was for Young Guns. It sounds like it was recorded around the same time as Do It To Ya and Gimme Some which was in the very late 90's. Sex Sells era.
