the bonjovi experience

Saw the bonjovi experience in Belfast on Saturday, they were fantastic!! Bit of a Bonjovi fix before next year but Jon should go and watch them - learn how to play all the big hits at proper speed again! Great atmosphere and although the set was a lot like last time, all was good! Love the its my life version starting slow and then pounding in! Well worth the entrance fee in!

On a side note, Radio 5 live in the UK doing a piece on all the gold medals won by GB so far.........we got it goin on as the backing soundtrack!!

I was there too, it was a great (albeit drunken) night. Agree with the IML thing, actually mentioned it over on the setlist thread.

I saw the video you posted in the setlist thread. I'm all for tribute bands, but when they start looking (and even acting) like the real band members, it gets a bit creepy.

But I also don't care too much, as long as the music sounds good.

to be fair to the lead singer, he has always looked like Jon (played the same stage together once!!). he always acts like him too though i was amused at how many lines i could predict when he adlibbing!!

What i dont get is....If you can play an instrument that well why spend your time playing someone else's songs? Write your own. You may end up writing better ones.

Tribute bands are usually made up of musicians who have failed to make it in the industry. It must pay quite well.

I don't really get it either. Unless you improvise a bit and add your own arrangements here and there like the German coverband Bounce does they're rarely interesting to me, you're not really being creative I think if all you do is copy others music.

Tribute bands creep me out a little. There's something just not right about it.
