Richie- Shepherds Bush July 1998

Managed to get 2 Richie Sambora tickets through the mail this week. One for Shepherd's Bush next month, and one from the same venue back in 1998.

It was my first ever gig, but somehow I had lost the ticket and never seen any since. Until a casual search on ebay for current tickets, brought up someone selling a used ticket from '98. £2 well spent to be able to add that to the other old tickets.

I remember that gig very well- queueing for hours outside the venue on my jack and then joining the middle of the crowd for a great gig, Richie beginning with Made In America, with songs from Undiscovered Soul and Stranger including when Jon came out for a few songs at the end, after hinting at it that morning during Richie's interview on the Big Breakfast show.

Anyway, back to the point of the topic- does anyone have any pictures or videos of this show or any other memories? There was a support band- but not a clue who they were. I had a disposable camera that day, but god knows where those pictures ended up, and I've yet to see any ever turn up on Youtube.

Anyone there remember it and want to indulge in a bit of nostalgia before heading back to the empire next month?

I remember a lot of Richie fans being upset on how Jon showed up because it was supposed to be Richie's moment to shine, and now Jon just had to take it away from him. Evil, evil Jon. I kid you not, this was really what several Richie fans said back then. :)

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I can well believe that being true :D

Hell, there still saying evil Jon these days yet the sun shines out of Richie's arse. Hilarious really.

I'm glad that I wasn't at a show where Jon showed up.

I always remember that JOon interview on The BB as he called it the 'Shepherds Empire Bush'!

Yeah, because who in their right mind would want to see both Jon and Richie on stage singing and playing together? Oh wait...

I was overjoyed when Jon came out and sang with Richie, especially in such a tiny venue. Jon didn't overshadow it at all, he almost sheepishly came out and totally let Richie have the limelight. I thought it was a great moment personally.

I have a CD of that Shepherds Bush gig...... Not the greatest quality, especially compared to the stuff you can get these days.
Still have my ticket too!

Sadly, due to money and lack of babysitter, won't be attending this year's show!

I can only second that, talk about getting your moneys worth! Was still a Richie gig.
