I've always admired Bon Jovi for NOT canceling shows no matter what was going on. They're the only act I'll book a flight to see because they're the only act I know I can count on to show up. However, when there's a state of emergency and all the roads are closed via the governor's declaration, it's time to cancel a show. I know Jon doesn't have many regrets in his career, but if this show goes on, I think it will be a decision he will regret.

Man, can't believe this isn't off yet. What a hash they have made of it, I guess it's all in the semantics of the contract that if Jon cancels he foots the bill so he's having a bit of brinkmanship to have someone cancel it for him. I mean even venue staff can't show up to police it. Which is pretty shitty to leave so much uncertainty for fans. Not just that, if the travel situation is so bad does it leave the next show in jeopardy?

Yeah, It was first postponed from 1 to 7 and then canceled.

It's kind of silly we've heard nothing official from the band yet...

Strange for the WTNH to confirm it is cancelled while some sources say the show is on. Why can't the band just go out and confirm wether it's on or not. It's so much confusion now...

bj4ever 02-09-2013 10:22 PM

just read someone saying that the band was in a meeting with security to see if they have enough people for the show
* not trying to spread rumours or anything, just something i read in the comments section on wtnh, so not official info.

Last reports are saying Bon Jovi's people are meeting with security to see if there are enough people to work the show.

Jon is such a wanker. Take the hint dude.

Spidey5150 02-09-2013 10:25 PM

Hey, if he wants to play the show, let him play, but they ought to schedule a 2nd date and honor rickets bought to this show.

bounce442 02-09-2013 10:28 PM

This is quite the cluster... it is like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

I know this is big money for the band and some fans have spent big money getting there, not to mention grandeur of the opening show. But didn't they see this storm coming days in advance? ...and they knew this storm would be dangerous. When they canceled 5000 flights Thursday, they should have made the decision to reschedule Saturday's and Sunday's shows. Hindsight is 20/20... but come on, it is 6 hours until the show. Get on the same page and make a decision.

Exactly. He's not a wanker for putting on a show for the fans who could make it.
That I'd admire despite the fact he knows the venue will be mostly empty.

It's how those who can't make it are dealt with and I guess those decisions won't be made today.

At this point the only people who'd be disappointed with a cancellation are Jon and his money men.
