Setlist and predictions in this thread please!

Holy shit. That came quick.

I hope they have a new, exciting opener. Blood on Blood was a cool change for last tour, but I hope they don't use it again. None of the new songs seem like they could work as an opener, at least of the ones we've heard thus far. It could be cool to bring back Lay Your Hands on Me as an opener, reminiscent of the New Jersey or These Days tours. Of course, the drum intro would have to be brought back with it, so that'd be a win-win.

I also hope they get Prayer out of the show closer spot. It's become so unoriginal and cliched to do that. It works better as a main set closer, in my opinion. Faith or Saturday Night are better show closers.

Captmorgs 02-02-2013 07:15 PM

It's actually Saturday, February 9, correct?

Didn't they live stream the opener of The Circle Tour in Seattle?

Supersonic 02-02-2013 07:22 PM

Aloha !

Yeah, Thierry's a bit premature. We all know I should create this topics, but I reckon he just couldn't wait. :p

With that said, it's fancy graph style!

The last time Bon Jovi played at the Mohegan Sun arena was on March 4, 2011. The show was short (just 2 hours long) but full of surprises. David Bryan sang In These Arms, Richie Sambora sang Wanted Dead Or Alive and the order of songs was mixed up a lot.

A graph showcasing the order of album and single tracks. A peak indicates the chart position in the Billboard Hot 100, thus a crowd possibly knowing such a song. The more peaks, the more familiar a crowd is with the entire set. In case no peak is noted the song either didn't chart or wasn't released as a single.

Songs played per album:

I have my doubts as to whether the show in February will be just as spectacular as this one. I've a feeling they'll be playing it safe here, with the few surprises planned for the American shows being thrown in later during the tour.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Spidey5150 02-02-2013 08:05 PM

Yeah, it's 2/9. I pretty much just came here to comment on my amazement that we're only 1 week away from the start of the tour. And then 3 weeks from tomorrow i'll be seeing them in Buffalo :D

Emisambora 02-02-2013 08:38 PM

This one was one of the best shows of the 2010/2011 tour. Amazing set.

The fisrt shows of Circle Tour in Hawaii thay played gems such Tokyo Road or Roulette. Maybe īll get some rare stuff next week.

GabrielC 02-02-2013 09:32 PM

I hope they open with Bounce. It's just about time they start playing stuff from Bounce and Crush again, but I don't think that will happen.

bonjovi90 02-02-2013 09:56 PM

I can actually imagine that Jon gives Army of One a shot in the opening slot. Not saying it will work, but he may try it...

To be honest I think that That's What The Water Made Me would fit the opening slot a lot better than Army of One. It's more "straight on" and would get the crowd going right away. Army of One is too slow in my book !

Far too slow and boring, terrible choice for an opener. I don't understand why so many are so enamoured with this song, it's alright but really nothing special, I'm not going to be hoping and praying to hear this one live.

I can't see That's What The Water Made Me opening. I think it is the strongest song from the new songs (the ones we know) and the excitement needs to be built (I liked Raise Your Hands as an opener in the beginning but got tired of it later on.) Prayer would be amazing as an opener but I think they will prob. open with WAN and maybe shake it up later during the tour.

Jayster 02-03-2013 03:01 AM

If I was putting money on it, I'd go with Lost Highway to open and Who Says as the main set closer.

Although I would rather neither of them featured.

Bounce7800 02-03-2013 02:37 PM

Given the setlist this show got last year combined with the opening show affect its hard to tell whether this would be indicative of the tour as a whole. I don't think we will see any different new tracks until the album is released though.

Still very excited for the first PBP.

Captain Walrus 02-03-2013 03:49 PM

Does no one else think that they'll use Because We Can as the opener? There's about a million songs I'd prefer in that spot but I can see it happening. I think it's unlikely they'll go with an album track before the album is released

Savvi 02-03-2013 04:14 PM

A lot of people here bag the band for a lot of things which most of the time I can understand, but dont really get fussed over. I will however be extremely disappointed and angry if more than 2 songs from Lost Highway are played... especially if Lost Highway itself is played in the first 4 or 5 songs.

Hoping for a fresh opener. And really hoping for another surprise return to the main set list, just like Something for the Pain on The Circle tour.

KeepTheFaith2211 02-03-2013 04:45 PM

Open with 'Lost Highway'

Play 'Livin' On A Prayer' after Richie's song, so Jon comes back as the crowd is going into a frenzy during the intro.

Close the show with 'Someday I'll Be Saturday Night'.

I can definitely see that happening and I think they will open with it........am I happy about that? No.

But than it is done and we don't have to suffer from it later during the show;-)

bonjovi90 02-03-2013 05:20 PM

BWC will played anyway so let's take it as the first song and have it out of the way :D

Haha, two minds think alike here ;-).

rolo_tomachi 02-03-2013 06:04 PM

I think it open with Living on a Prayer, end with Keep the Faith.

They are preparing a video for the giant screens, fans playing maracas, this is a test that will be the end of the concert.

Opener: Living on a Prayer
Closed: Keep the Faith

Standard set list tour 2013
-------------------------------------------------------
01 Prayer (opener)
02 Bad Name
03 Raise Your Hands or born to be my baby
04 Because We Can
_
_
_
_
_
_

*Every Road or Seven Years Gone (Richie solo)
*Not Running/Old Habits or The Fighter/Amen (Jon solo)
_
_
_
_

_

*Bad Medicine+classic cover

-Encore 1 (?)

*Wanted

-Encore 2 (?)

*Keep The Faith (closed)
-----------------------------------------------------------

In my opinion will be something like this.

It's a shame, because it could be better, for example strong start with a song from the new album, but for now there are none.

.

TheseDaysEra 02-03-2013 08:31 PM

given it's an American show, it won't be longer than 22-23 songs.

They opened with Bounce at one of the shows I went to in 2011 and it went down like a lead balloon. Not enough people know it.

luceknight 02-04-2013 07:37 PM

For opener I think it might be Prayer, RYH or maybe a new one?
I think BWC will appear as second in the set, like Follow did last tour...

and yeah, instead of Richie singing a BJ tune, maybe Every Road.
But not sure these changes will happen in these firsts concerts...

Bounce7800 02-04-2013 10:48 PM

BJ. com are live streaming a pre show and the first 30mins of the gig

Jonty 02-05-2013 01:03 AM

really hope its not Prayer! Has to be the end of the show or encore, it is the one everyone knows and sings loudest. Also a tingle down the spine when it happens, if at the start then half the crowd are lost already!

Jonty 02-05-2013 01:04 AM

I saw that about the stream. What time does that start at UK time then?

And before we all argue after, the show will be just ok, Jon's voice wont be great and it will be standard set to be shown online like they did at the start of the tour last time. Just remember how good the tour ended up in various places!!

The UK is 5 hours ahead of NY so it will start at 12:30 / 1:00 and 1:30 / 2:00 here in Germany.

nrm123 02-05-2013 02:24 PM

Because its being streamed Jon will put Because We Can in the start and one more new song rest will be popular fan songs

MrIks from Finland 02-05-2013 03:11 PM

to be streamed:

1. Lost Highway
2. Because We Can
3. Bad Name
4. What About Now
5. It's My Life
6. We Weren't Born to Follow

danfan 02-05-2013 05:57 PM

Christ, please don't open with Lost Highway. It's been done to death, and the majority of the crowd doesn't want to hear it. In fact, drop all LH songs from the show, especially We Got It Going On. THE LH TOUR ENDED 5 YEARS AGO - ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't understand why they don't open with Have A Nice Day. It goes over well live, fans eat it up, and it would make sense as a good opener.

They're gonna lose the crowd before the show starts. I've grown to like BWC, and I don't have a problem with LH, but they suck as openers. Everybody knows Bad Name will be 3rd. No one will know What About Now, and WWBTF is probably the worst live sounding single they've ever released.

Yes it is sad but pretty realistic i i would say....

What i would want that they streamed:

Hey god
Something for the pain
In this arms
That's what the water made me
Say it isn't so
The distance

I just talked with Jon. They're gonna replace It's My Life with I Love This Town...

I remember my excitement after seeing the setlis of the first show of The Circle Tour in 2010. Please make the magic happen again... opening with "Let It Rock" or "I Believe" would help. :-)

I remember it too. But sadly the setlists went worse and worse after that. Except London dates... Jon's promises about playing a lot of rare songs died very fast... as well as the promise to play every song from the Circle during the tour

I remember getting up and checking the PBP from Honolulu and everyone was drooling over a horrible quality livestream on UStream from some mobile phone where Roulette could be heard.
Yeah, that was quite cool :D
