The last time Bon Jovi played Atlanta was on May 14, 2011. The show was without Richie Sambora and the setlist contained no surprises.

A graph showcasing the order of album and single tracks. A peak indicates the chart position in the Billboard Hot 100, thus a crowd possibly knowing such a song. The more peaks, the more familiar a crowd is with the entire set. In case no peak is noted the song either didn't chart or wasn't released as a single.

I'm glad you did that, I couldn't understand why Richie had missed a show in 2006 which Seb's original post said. Thanks.

So Bon Jovi will be in Atlanta tomorrow and I'll be at the elementary school giving IQ and achievement tests to first graders. There's something wrong with this picture.

How do you figure these numbers when they are only 9 shows into the tour, 10 shows counting the "free" Mohegan Sun show? With the cancellation, the tour technically started in Washington D.C.

He's including setlists from radio shows in London and Stuttgart prior to the tour. IMO he shouldn't, because those were different type of shows and had shorter sets and it slightly distors the overall picture. If I were him, it'd start with either Mohegan, or even Washington.

Gotta agree here, the promo shows shouldn't count. Maybe even Mohegan Free Show should not count.

He can do what he wants. I count them, why shouldn't he?

Maybe because the real tour is a totally different thing than the promo tour, my young friend! :)

Captain_jovi 02-27-2013 01:43 AM

Yee if you're using the list to gauge how often a song is played on tour, including abbreviated sets is pointless. If that's not why you're using it then meh.

Panda 02-27-2013 01:46 AM

The Hawaii sets were included in the Circle tour statistics last time and they weren't official "dates". Might as well continue using promo shows.

That doesn't really work, the Hawaii shows were actual full shows with setlists similar to the first dates. You can't compare those to shows for tv/radio and a shortened set.

Are you just trolling or are you really comparing apples and oranges?

Bottom line is, the purpose of a song counting is to show how often each song was played, as captain jovi said. Including promo shows distors it, as I said.

If promo shows count, you might as well include TV show appearances, so that Because We Can could be unanimously the most frequent song, while the truth is, on tour, it will be played just as much (or less) than songs like Prayer and Wanted.

But he didn't count the BBC show, did he? It's the same thing. It's OK to count Mohegan, but not the promos.

Savvi 02-27-2013 05:12 AM

Lol ok ok, calm down peoples, ill change when I get home from work :) I wasn't sure myself whether to include them or not so I guess I have my answer now.

You're fine. People should be smart enough to do the math on their own (subtracting the promo shows). The only song that it has a real impact on at this point is I'm With You.

Walkerboy 02-27-2013 10:15 AM

My brother is going tonight, his first BJ gig.
Poor ticket sales evidently summed up by the fact that he only bought the tickets yesterday!!!
I don't expect him to enjoy it..... takes a lot to impress him.

I love the shows in ATL. Always a great time. Love riding the Marta back to the hotel, because most everyone is in a great mood, singing, laughing, making jokes, remembering those special moments, etc. Nothing like a show in ATL, imo. (Except if we were wealthy, and could travel to Europe.) Normally, I would never miss one. The only ATL show that I was somewhat disappointed with was the May 14, 2011 show. It was our anniversary and we "splurged", for that show. Only to have Richie not show up. That was a huge disappointment. Unfortunately, like Becky, I'm ever so close, but will miss this particular show, due to work circumstances Anyway, to everyone attending, tonight ~ ENJOY!!

We were right in front, more or less, for this one, something I will never forget. Dayum, I could see Jon's hands on the strings of my favorite red guitar. To be honest, I was mesmerized.

We usually get some amazing photos & vids out of an Atlanta show. It will be interesting to see what we get out of this one.

Here is a link to a review from the 5.14.2011 show:

(I found it interesting, and for the most part, spot on.) Again, this was for the 2011 show. Just thought some attending tonight's show, might enjoy reading it.)

http://blogs.ajc.com/atlanta-music-s...asing-rockers/

Hope everyone there tonight has a great time.

I'll be with you, in spirit...

LeaJovi 02-27-2013 10:06 PM

Tonight I predict Bad name. :middlefi:

BTW, this signature pics people are using are too damn big, at least for my taste. Ain't there a size rule for that kind of stuff?

One of my friends is at this one tonight so hope she gets a good one.

In all the other forums I've been there were maximum sizes for signatures, I think there should be one.

Today i exactly sure, they will play Always! As well as they will likely play In These Arms,Bed Of Roses,Dry County and These Days. Maybe they play Just Older,JBJ birthday soon, and I think they will start to rehearse it. I would like more to play I'd Die For You and Wild In The Streets!

I think you're my favourite. Classic Bon Jovi optimism.

If they play "Dry County" tonight, I'll buy that insultingly overpriced ($340) autographed "What About Now" album they're selling.

Well.... I think we know what's coming in the next 19 songs. I'll be back in time for the encore. I'm going to walk my dog, which is much more exciting than the main set of the Because We Can tour.
