I don't have the pretty graphs or official statistics but I have seen them here since coming back to Oklahoma in 2006. This time they are back in OKC after playing Tulsa on the Circle Tour.

I will start by saying this, Bon Jovi never really puts out for Oklahoma. It is something only a die hard would notice... my friends always walk away amazed, but they also haven't seen them in Dallas. I have had the pleasure of seeing and comparing the Dallas shows to Oklahoma shows since they made their return to Oklahoma. And I am not sure if it is because they really love Dallas (which I believe they do) or dislike Oklahoma. Dallas shows, despite the vanilla sets are right up there with Chicago, performance wise, and maybe because of that it seems like Oklahoma gets the shaft. Dallas always has one or two extra songs, and like I said... a much better performance.

That's not to say there hasn't been interesting changes in set in the day or two between shows. Going back to 2006, OKC got One Last Cigarette and Novocain whereas in Dallas they traded them for Blood on Blood, Saturday Night, and Everyday. However, the only rarity Oklahoma ever got was Open All Night on the Circle Tour, a rarity Dallas got on the Lost Highway tour (for whatever reason, they couldn't make it Mystery Train!!!).

Anyway, so here's to tomorrow night! I get bad reception at the Chesapeake Arena but I will try to give you all the PBPs. You can follow me on Twitter: @SundancePhoto

I have a fondness for OKC as that is the first city I ever saw Bon Jovi!! I hope it surprises everyone!!

Supersonic 03-16-2013 03:11 PM

Aloha !

Sorry folks, work's been holding me back quite a bit lately. Just know that I still care about you all deeply. I'm off to make graphs now for Lubbock. :p

What tour? I have a bootleg of OKC on the Syndacite tour and Seb would know, but I think they also came here on KTF. I was still a little guy at that point but it reminds me, the KTF single (cassette) was my first Bon Jovi purchase.

Can't help but keep reading this as the Cheapskate arena!

Hope for a couple more new tracks in the setlist, I'll try and put in while watching the re-arranged F1 quali

Sorry, but I don't know what bootlegs you have. :p

Bon Jovi didn't play Oklahoma in 1993. They skipped Oklahoma from 1990-2006. Their first show since 1989 was during the Have A Nice Day tour. :)

Sorry, that was phrased poorly. I meant you'd know if they came here with KTF... and you did.
My bootleg is OKC 89.

I know, I was only kidding. :p

That'll be the show. I've never heard the bootleg though, never cared for the eighties stuff when it comes to live shows. :)

Yeah that is it. My copy is on an old VHS... I haven't watched it in years. I need to convert it before it is totally useless. The quality is so rough, it's almost work watching it. But, hey, it's history.

Kazyyy12 03-17-2013 12:38 AM

Tonight is my 17th birthday so I'd love for them to play Just Older, but since theyre wouldn't even play it on Jon's birthday show, they probably won't debut it on this tour tonight haha. But my prediction is for one of the new songs that hasn't been played live yet to be played tonight, and for In These Arms to be played too!

Sergey 03-17-2013 01:39 AM

I predict, they will play on encore Hey God!

Stranger things have happened. I would expect something like 'Just Older' will get played soon. It's not difficult for Jon to sing, it gets played quite often each tour and will be a change in the setlist people will like despite it not being anything special (not the song, the actual addition of the song in the set).

I fully agree with all of that, and I think it will show up soon. Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see Radio pop up soon or something like Thorn In My Side. I wish they would bring back the full band segment on the circle, so we'd maybe get to hear Something For the Pain, Miss 4th of July, or Mystery Train

They need to stop teasing and just play 'Hey God'.

Lunchtime in Australia :-)

Good for following American dates.... A pain in the bum for when they hit Europe.

Anyway hopefully Hey God is in the encore and they get a performance like this one in Philadelphia in 2000.

I saw my first show on the OWN tour. It's crazy how much younger they were back then.

That's a great performance. I doubt it will show up though. Jon just doesn't see any use in playing TD material in USA :(

Wow, I didn't know Hugh could move. Seems like there are some kind of life inside the man after all

Also, and I know this isn't related to this show really, but we're the only ones on so im sure I can mention it.

There's a Jon interview on Australian tv tonight. The trailer for it shows him playing a harmonica.... Actually quite well. As in present day. 2013.

So maybe he'll finally drop it into live These Days performances.

Or maybe bring back Homebound Train, with Richie in vocals and Jon in the harmonica.

I have a hunch for a rarity tonight, not sure which one though
