Been Dumped

After 2 years of bliss or so I thought, my girlfriend has dumped me.

A 40 year old bloke is devastated, never been hurt so bad in my entire life.

Down to my shifts apparently . Had some great times together, jovi shows, trekked across the Sahara desert amongst other things. I love her to bits I really do, but don't know if I can fight anymore, its been under strain since xmas and all I have done is fight, im all out of fight .Sympathy would be welcome

Think I will get blind drunk

Peace, Out:(

Ohhh no!! Sorry to read this, man. Break-ups can be a f*ckin' bitch! Broke up with my last girlfriend a year ago tomorrow…and damn, I still miss her. But live goes on and ever since my last 2 big ones, I have 2 new passions. Red wine and Scotch :D hahaha.

Anyway - Life goes on. An to be honest, relationships are really what you project them in your head to be. In reality, they're not all that good as you thought they were.

This explains it all:

Maybe take some time to recover and if you love her and she loves you too try to build something new together?

Becky 03-23-2013 08:41 PM

Sorry to hear that! Hope you're feeling better soon.

Sorry to hear that man, give it some time and alcohol you'll start getting used to it in a bit. Being dumped is hard no matter any way you look at it, my last girlfriend dumped me. We were close to a year, definetly not as long a history as you but it still hurt, and she jumped right back to her ex. This song mixed in with a bit of whiskey and a couple of flings got me through that, but I still miss her...

Maybe I'm the young naive one here, but isn't alcohol probably the worst thing you could do? I know what I was like, as with others and getting drunk.. is well.. a depressant. Does it actually make you feel better or does it make it worse?

Well, alcohol with a good pick of friends can turn a shitty day into a hell of a night.

I agree with faith. If both of you were/are in it for love, give it time and see how you both feel. Talk it out. Communicate!
Best of luck!

Well, with me it depends but if I am down getting alcohol is the worst thing to do. But other than that alcohol never clouded my judgement or made me do stupid things. With guys (many of them) if they are depressed / under pressure when they drink they get agressive and women usually get clingy.

Hah! I had two quite 'painful' breakups in the last 4 years. One got me into red wines. The other one got me into scotch :D Hahah...both are hobbies of mine now (in a positive sense, don't really overdo them anymore). And wouldn't have happened without either of those girls. The red wine one I still see regularly. She's cool. We're cool. The scotch one I still miss. A lot. But hey, it is what it is. Life goes on...and you do something else. I just hope that next one won't turn me into a heroin user or something silly like that :D

And you know what's funny - I wrote this while incidentally, the Gaslight Anthem is playing in the background. Here's Looking at You Kid.

Don't worry before heroin there are mushrooms, Special K and coke we don't need to exaggerate (joking).
As long as you can reflect, it shouldn't be a problem?! And we all need hobbies, don't we ;)?

Neurotica80 06-09-2013 09:25 AM

I was in your shoes a year ago, the only good thing about it was I managed to lose a shit load of weight from living off vodka diet redbull! Pandas right though, it might make your problems go away for a few hours but they're still there in the morning with a nasty hangover!

I had really good mates to get me though it, times the best healer though. You kinda look at everything through rosé tinted glasses, thinking everything was perfect when it really wasn't. I can look back now and see they weren't right for me at all. Even though last summer hurt like mad I'm glad it happened as I'm now with someone who's 10x the person than my ex was.

It will get easier, just make sure she's deleted from your phone, FB and whatever else. Good luck!!

I feel for you, mine isn't great either, I fear my relationship is dead. Sucks but you have to go on as best you can
