Bon Jovi's 'Army of One' Marches Into New Discovery Series: Exclusive http://www.billboard.com/files/style...13-650-430.jpg Bon Jovi’s big adventure continues through a new team-up with the Discovery Channel. The veteran rock group’s new single “Army of One” is to feature as the theme song for Discovery’s upcoming nature series, “North America” -- described by its creators at a landmark show that captures life colliding “with hostile, untamed wilderness in the most diverse, deadly environment on Earth." http://bcove.me/ffzi9dbb The new song “captures the daring, wild spirit of Discovery’s upcoming landmark television event that presents our homeland as an extreme world all within one continent,” comments Eileen O'Neill, Group President of Discovery Channel and TLC, in a statement. “Army of One” is lifted from Bon Jovi’s latest album “What About Now”, which has been a global block-buster on its release in recent weeks. The new set, their 12th studio effort, opened in the top spot on The Billboard 200, shifting 101,000 units in its first week and becoming its fifth No. 1 Stateside. The album also opened at No. 1 Australia and at No. 2 in the United Kingdom. The seven-part natural history series "North America" starts May 19, and is produced for Discovery Channel by Silverback Films with Keith Scholey serving as executive producer and Huw Cordey serving as series producer. For Discovery Channel, Christine Weber and Iain Riddick are executive producers with Kristin Wilcox as associate producer. Source: Billboard |
Hmm..how odd. A great track, would have really fit into onto a soundtrack of a corny/ inspirational hollywood movie or TV show...but this? A nature documentary? Odd.
Good exposure nevertheless.. Andi |

It wasn't supposed to be Amen? |
i love the song!!! army of one is a btreath of fresh air from the guys imo...amen is nice in the studio but putting it out like a second single especially when your first one bombed would be the end of the record...obviously they havent decided yet, since we have indications for amen-what about now and some weeks before im with you...
because we can was a bad choise and imo should be just a bonus track. the guys need some radio exposure and i guess now its almost too late for the record but who knows...anyway i quite enjoy the album but i find furstrating that jon tries to manufacture certain songs and fails repeatedly.. ps.as long as the who says you cant go home comment that is a hit...as far as europe goes only the fans know it...i ve heard its a minor hit in u.s. even though its my life hit a nerve worldwide, who says was just a smart professional move, using jeniffer neetles and expanding in the country market... if jon stops caring about singles and no.1s he will help the band write better music |
If it is the new single, its a surprise, really. Bad choice, anyway.

Maybe they have finally taken some advise from other rock groups and are releasing several singles to different formats. Though I think they've tried it before, they never made a habit of it....
