Lyrical masterpiece from Jon Bon Jovi.

Def Leppard still kicks ass. Jovi doesn't. Joe can still hit the high notes, Jon can't. Phil and Viv still play guitar as good or better than they did, Richie doesn't. Def Leppard still has just five people on stage, Bon Jovi have dozens.

Def Leppard wins.

I hate their sound, hate their drums and just hate everything about them. Sorry !!

Nothing to be sorry for. You don't like them, you don't like them.

I hate Dave Matthews but I can't deny they're a great live act.

Sorry, but this is 100% right.

However, let's not kid ourselves. Bon Jovi is ten times bigger than Def Leppard.

Uhm...No. I'd say Van Halen are more popular than Def Leppard are over here but only by a small margin. Def Leppard aren't "pretty big" over here. They're pretty much non-existant apart from a few countries here and there. If you drop the name Def Leppard chances are no one has any idea of what you're talking about, even if you play a song by them. Play Jump and chances are people recognize it.

I've seen Def Leppard once and was bored to death by them, and left after half an hour to get something to eat instead. It's mediocre mid-tempo drivel that pretty much sounds all the same to me. I've downloaded their discography and could never get into it. I never understood why they're so appealing to some.

Do you live in Japan and Australia?

I've never understood why a lot of bands are popular. People have different tastes in music. I'm sure some of the stuff you listen to would put many people here to sleep. That doesn't make it bad.

Umm... You're very much wrong here. If Van Halen were to tour in Europe, they couldn't even sell out the places Def Leppars are playing and those are not big places. Van Halen is virtually unknown apart from Jump. Def Leppard might not be big in Holland, but they're well known in Germany, Spain, the UK (obviously) and the Scandinavian countries.

There's a reason Van Halen don't come to Europe at all. Here they're the opening act while the Leps headline.

What's Japan and Australia got to do with this?

But thanks for this very insightful and deep explanation as to how people have different tastes in music. Because I'm giving my opinion on the music and yet you're acting like I'm actually offending you because I'm saying I don't like it and I don't see what people see in this band. That's my opinion, no need to get so worked up about it.

Actually, Van Halen won't come to Europe because they're asking too much, their fee is too high. I know there's quite a difference from their popularity in Holland compared to the rest of Europe but still, Van Halen was asked about a lot when they made their comeback a few years ago and were offered an arena tour with full blown promotion and yet they refused to make it over the pond simply because they were expecting to get the same per venue as they do in America.

Def Leppard:

Def Leppard still really rocks and Joe can still hit the high notes. Jon doesn't even attempt to sing them.

if you are saying,by watching this, that leppard are better live than jovi, then you can't hear or don't want to,they can't hold a candle to jovi in anything.prayer is much harder to sing then leppard's song.there are few bands that are in same league with jovi live:iron maiden, metallica, rammstein and when I say live I mean by pure music, not big stage, special effects and so on.

That's basically just what I was saying. They're asking for too much money, and no promoter will pay that, because Van Halen will not sell tickets here. They're just not that popular.

They're big in Japan and Australia. When someone says "overseas", they're not specifically referring to Holland.

You really interpret things on message boards poorly, which surprises me as I have the feeling you are a member of many. I'm not getting worked up at all (and never do).
