The last time Bon Jovi played Edmonton was July 15, 2010. The setlist contained one surprise; Always opened the encore. Another unexpected move was Jon dropping Work For The Working Man. Time for it to return! Just kidding. :p

A graph showcasing the order of album and single tracks. A peak indicates the chart position in the Billboard Hot 100, thus a crowd possibly knowing such a song. The more peaks, the more familiar a crowd is with the entire set. In case no peak is noted the song either didn't chart or wasn't released as a single.

I've been to the last show in Edmonton which was rather good but halfway through the show the flow was a bit off. The lack of songs from The Circle certainly improved the set, though Crash near the end of the main set was seriously once of the biggest downers in a flow I've ever experienced at a Bon Jovi show. That said, I've got good memories of this show.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Really glad I didn't end up buying tickets for this show. Also really glad that both Calgary and Winnipeg I ended up sticking with nosebleed seats that I bought for $50.

ticos_stick 04-03-2013 11:12 PM

David to play Lunar Eclipse in full while dressed as Willy Wonka. You heard it here first.

Admittedly, I would pay to see that.

JoviGirl 04-04-2013 01:14 AM

I wonder if our homeless are getting a cheque tonight too...

Shouldn't you be at this show?

Now that I'd pay $300 for.

I'll be there in a couple hours. :)

Thierry 04-04-2013 01:53 AM

In how many hours will this trainwreck of a show start?

In a little over three.

I wouldn't be shocked if Phil X is there tonight. Hopefully Richie won't miss too much time, and will be back by Sunday (or the Sunday after that). His last tweet sounded promising.

Jonty 04-04-2013 02:23 AM

No point hoping for some new songs like thieves, pictures, I'm with you or beautiful world!!

Actually when Richie is not there, Jon goes all out and works his ass off. He carries the whole show.

While that is true, however, no matter how into Jon was in 2011, the sets of the Phil X shows were still horribly static, even by US standarts and Jon himself sounds obviously worse with no Richie's backing vocals.

superkid 04-04-2013 03:44 AM

Is seeing Bon Jovi without Richie still more fun than staying home? Yes. Is it worth hundreds of dollars? No. I highly doubt that any "epic" shows will come without Richie. My expectations for my upcoming shows are lower than ever.

I was very surprised they played Dry County with Phil X

From PhilX's twitter page:

@TheRealPhilX Will you be in Edmonton tonight?

Phil X ‏@TheRealPhilX 22m
@UKwench since this question is immediate & I'll only say this once but yes.

Lisa71 04-04-2013 04:35 AM

Someone who knows how to post pictures, please do!

Link to a picture of Jon with PhilX

Welcome back Phil X

We welcome Phil X back to the tour.

Javier 04-04-2013 04:38 AM

Yes!! I feel guilty about this but, the idea of Phil X playing with Bon Jovi makes me happy! :D The guy is class and an amazing guitarist with a hell of an enviable resume. God bless him!!

Jayster 04-04-2013 04:51 AM

I hope he tells JBJ he wants to play Dry County and Hey God!

He hasn't exactly had much time to learn the new songs.....

superkid 04-04-2013 04:53 AM

It's like Phil X is the vice-lead guitarist, and in a state of emergency he must be only a phone call away from becoming the most important man in the world, no matter what he's doing. :p

Hopefully President Richie heals soon.

Ok, I'm done being a nerd.

ezearis 04-04-2013 04:55 AM

Phil X: "Hey Jon, how about if we play some Bounce songs tonight?"

Later in the show: We're sorry to announce that Phil X won't be playing with us any time soon.

He'd be fine reading the chords on the prompter while he hears the songs for the first time during the show. No practice necessary when you're that talented.

Javier 04-04-2013 04:59 AM

The new songs are so simple he doesn't need that much time to learn them. A listen and a run-through in his dressing room should be enough.

Captmorgs 04-04-2013 04:59 AM

Is Panda tweeting tonight?

He's not there.

Show should be starting soon.

LeaJovi 04-04-2013 05:06 AM

So nobody PBPing? :(

Kathleen 04-04-2013 05:12 AM

Pleased to hear about Phil X. I went back and listened to IBTFY from the Nassau show that I went to with Phil X instead of Richie. It's one of the best performances of that song ever - an 8 minute version.

I was not unhappy with the shows without Richie, though certainly Jon stepped up and kept the spotlight on himself.

Savvi 04-04-2013 05:14 AM

It seems like Phil X is saying "Are we seriously doing the same setlist that in 2011?!" or "You're ****ing with me, this can't be the solo for Because We Can".

ezearis 04-04-2013 05:23 AM

1. You Give Love A Bad Name
2. Raise Your Hands
3. Runaway

Jon is wearing his Captain America jacket.

Captmorgs 04-04-2013 05:23 AM

It's from the website, labeled as "Welcome back, Phil X!"

Captmorgs 04-04-2013 05:26 AM

Ladies and gentlemen, your new Bon Jovi guitarist.

Have to admit, I'm stumped. I don't get this at all.

Savvi 04-04-2013 05:27 AM

1. You Give Love A Bad Name
2. Raise Your Hands
3. Runaway
4. Lost Highway

Glad Phil X has been welcomed back warmly by most. Although it makes me miss Richie more.
