Then why is he there playing with the band? Can't the get someone else?
Insulting Richie, not liking the music - yet he is onstage and collecting the money. Sounds more like a big mouth to me. |

The man can have his own opinion, he is not a band member and part of Jon's ''vision'' - he is a hired session player to cover guitar parts, which is exactly what he is doing. He is saving their asses at the moment, and for that I am grateful. I'd jam as a session player for nearly anybody if asked. And Phil obviously likes some of the classic stuff, you can see he enjoys it. Phil X @TheRealPhilX 21h had a great time in Winnipeg last night. the crowd was INSANE! anyone have footage of Keep The Faith? it had some special moments for me. I don't see the problem, it's not like he's slagging the band off now whilst he is with them. He's a professional. Andi |

It's my understanding Phil X & Jon have run in the same music circles for many years--they go waaaay back. Phil X & Jon are real cool with each other--he's not commented a lot on Richie. Phil will competently and professionally play anything--he's well-known & highly regarded in the LA music scene. Personally, I think he's a great dude, very kind & fun-loving. Being an almost lifelong Bon Jovi fan, I'm more than happy to throw all my support Phil's way during his second stretch with the band...

He was in Aldo Nova's touring band for "Blood on the Bricks" that Jon produced so you know it goes back awhile. For anyone who doesn't remember Phil spilled the beans a bit and did session work on "What do ya got?".

Jon hates half the songs himself, so how could he blame an outsider for not liking them. Didn't Jon say more than once that his music is not even his own wife's cup of tea?
Personally if it was me and I would not have him around if he had said those things. However, it does not seem to bother Jon or he simply does not know he has said them. Either way it is no problem for me if he is around and doesn't like the music that much. |
nobody hates Bon Jovi as in HATES them (other than that obsessed guy who was posting here). Let's face it, a band that has written Wanted Dead or Alive will inspire some form of admiration from any musician, from anyone who has ever picked up a guitar. Even Lars Ulrich ended up saying that it's one of the greatest road songs ever written.
At the same time, it's IMPOSSIBLE to not be cynical about Bon Jovi. Just listen to all the junk that they have written over the years, especially in more recent years. And again, anyone with a musical talent of some sort will call Because We Can and that sort 'JUNK'. Phil X is no different. I'm sure he loves the classics - the fact that Jon let him sing the second verse of Wanted last time around is proof enough. He wanted to be part of it. And when you see him jam on Faith or on Lay Your Hands On Me - he looks on fire. There's no way a hard rock guitar player doesn't enjoy jamming on those. Impossible. So, in other words, Phil X is just a man with an objective opinion, and the attitude and body language of a 17 year old kid who is just about to start his first rock band. I really really dig him and whichever way Jon picked him, respect! Having said that, the DRILLS suck balls and he can't sing for his life. But hell, he's a great guitar player. |
