Well, I am pleasantly surprised at how Jon is performing on those videos. Bad Mx, In These Arms and all the jukebox songs are really quite energetic performances in comparison to the start of the tour.
I don't know if it's either because he has warmed up more by this stage of the tour, or if he is trying to compensate for Richie's absence more as he knows there might be added attention on the band due the current situation..

Exactly what I said the first time Richie was out and Phil was filling in. Jon really stepped it up and the show had a hell of a lot more energy. I got one of the best IBTFY versions ever at Nassau Coliseum in 2011 while Richie was gone.

Did Jon change the lyrics to Last Man standing? The part after the solo sounds different, I swear he's saying "....turn the other page"?

His teleprompter isn't working properly, he keeps looking down at the lyrics and makes them up on the spot. "I'mma turn the other page" might even refer to the guy handling the teleprompter, as in get to the next page of lyrics. :)

It also hurts me to say it but that's one of the best 'Always' outro solos for quite a few shows.. Good job PhilX!

I did not notice that the Smirk logo is actually projected in lights around the arena during Have a Nice Day. Nice touch since there's no video content for that song this tour!

Ad that's why bon Jovi are the best band of all time..... Absolutely brilliant

I'm telling you, JBJ is more relaxed and having fun as he knows that Richie won't turn up drunk (if its that) or is off the tour sorting out whatever it is.
You can call JBJ a lot if things but he has always said that its about performing to the best they can live. They are doing that again.

Thanks for the video's, still waiting for your review. :)

It's kind of odd to see how much more fun Jon seems to be having ever since Richie left. He's quite a bit more open to just goofing around. It's still choreographed and well planned out, but he's out there selling the band as opposed to just trying to get it over with. Let's just hope that once Richie returns he's not back to being the moody ****er he usually is.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I don't think he has a choice. He really needs to make fans try and forget that Richie's not there. Only way to do that is put a big smile on his face and at least look like he's having a good time. Or, maybe he really is happy about Richie not being there.

Good set list. Just ditch WFTWM, WLOL and WWBTF and replace them with pretty much anything, and you've got a great show.

Captmorgs 04-13-2013 02:07 AM

Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled that Dallas got a great show. But people are over-reacting with the "Jon and the band are happier with Richie gone" thing. And I got an awesome show in Milwaukee last year with Phil X. But to suggest the band is now somehow having MORE fun? LOL.
