I can easily say that last night’s show was the most special show I have been to. It’s not my favorite show. It wasn’t the best set list or best vocal performance, but it was simply Jon Bon Jovi at his best as a performer. Unlike the OKC show 3 weeks ago (where Richie really shined and carried the show IMO), Jon was on fire… he didn’t rest for a minute or allow himself to go into autopilot mode… he stayed sharp and took nothing for granted.

. . .

Then much to my surprise, Jon start’s asking, “what should we play next?” He asked the crowd, BOB? I Love this Town? Superman Tonight? …which got a pretty good cheer surprisingly enough. He then asked Phil if he knew it. Phil said no. Jon said, “No? it’s a midtempo.. It’s a hit. No?” Then the bone went to David who picked more “jukebox music” with the full song of Old Time Rock and Roll.

Thanks for the great review. It's awesome when Jon is on fire like that. Surprised that Phil said he didn't know Superman Tonight when they played it in St. Paul the other night. Maybe just part of the on stage banter/act. Glad you got a great show!

Pretty good audio on Always. Have to say, I really enjoyed the work by Phil here.

Yeah, if only we could get Richie back and at his best (pretty much like he has been this tour) and if Jon stays the way he was Thursday, with maybe a WITW, HG, or TD thrown in occasionally, I'd probably go broke looking at other shows...

That is weird about ST... I forgot they played it the other night. He played it in Milwaukee in 2011... but I wouldn't remember it either. And honestly, OTR&R went over better than ST would have.

It should be "we have 15 albums"

"I ain't going nowhere" it's "we ain't going nowhere"

My wife first noticed when she first ever went to see them that JBJ never used the words us, we etc but uses the words I, me, mine a lot.

He has always been like that and it drives me up the wall. He and Richie will be doing an interview (Richie sitting right next to him) and Jon is, "my songs. my band. songs I've written. etc" ...a lot of self promotion.

I watched the video clips listed on this thread. I have to admit I like a lot what I see, this is the Jon Bon Jovi we once knew. This show proves he still is the greatest frontman in rock. It´s all still in him if he wants to.
And of course I miss Richie and hope to God he comes back. But that said, this guy Phil X is a great, great guitar player.
The KTF outro was outstanding. This is the kind of jamming I´ve been missing. There´s so much joy, energy and professionalism evident on the stage.

I'm not sure I miss Richie. That Always extended solo was such a breath of fresh air. Splendid.

I hate to agree with you but I do. It's easy to miss Richie but the music (and the presentation) is an improvement.
