The last time Bon Jovi played Des Moines was on May 12, 2011. Indeed, this will be the second time the band visits Des Moines without Richie. The setlist contained no surprises.

A graph showcasing the order of album and single tracks. A peak indicates the chart position in the Billboard Hot 100, thus a crowd possibly knowing such a song. The more peaks, the more familiar a crowd is with the entire set. In case no peak is noted the song either didn't chart or wasn't released as a single.

How reliable is old Bill?

Pretty reliable. He goes to 5-6 shows per tour. I'm sure they heard soundcheck in the arena when they picked up their VIP Pit tickets.

WHAT? With Jon on vocals?

rightsideofwrong 04-15-2013 03:16 AM

That's pretty impressive if they did. But I don't know why they would. It didn't go over well when Richie mumbled his way through it before. Just throw in Hey god and get it over with!

He didn't say. Playing a song at soundcheck is no guarantee they will play it in the concert. I heard them soundcheck What's Left of Me in Nashville, and they didn't play it that night (or since the very beginning of the tour for that matter).

Richie rocked the shit out of 'Homebound Train'.

GabrielC 04-15-2013 03:21 AM

They probably won't play it, but it would be really cool to see Phil X in this song. Jon have to play the heavy songs, that's were Phil shines.

Captmorgs 04-15-2013 03:25 AM

Ok, sorry for the false alarm. Bill said he heard from another friend attending the show that they soundchecked Homebound Train. So feel free to be skeptical. My apologies, I thought Bill heard it himself.

rightsideofwrong 04-15-2013 03:33 AM

Thanks for the clarification capt.

I think I might die if Jon sang Homebound Train.

Agreed.

It was Lay Your Hands he mumbled through.

Maybe Phil X will take the lead on Homebound Train tonight ;-)

rightsideofwrong 04-15-2013 03:45 AM

I'll agree to the mumble your hands on me lol

Kathleen 04-15-2013 03:47 AM

Richie killed Homebound Train. I heard it in Philly and it was awesome. LYHOM was just meh when Richie was singing it.

Jayster 04-15-2013 03:51 AM

Actually, thinking about it, Homebound Train would be a killer set opener.

yeah and richie would sing it. that would be the most amazing yet awkward thing ever. lol
nah, in all honesty, it would be a great opener but Jon could never nail that song in that rocky fashion anymore. i like that's what the water made me opening it.

Agreed. Who would have thought that HT would be Richie's best Bon Jovi song. A big highlight of the circle tour for sure.

Me too. It's the obvious opener from What About Now.

bounce442 04-15-2013 04:14 AM

Show should be starting any minute now...

And only really done a handfull of times which was a real shame.

Jayster 04-15-2013 04:25 AM

Any twitter links for PBP?

rightsideofwrong 04-15-2013 04:33 AM

Im having trouble finding a pbp on twitter, if you come across one please post in here :)

Captmorgs 04-15-2013 04:40 AM

Bill isn't texting me every song. They opened with Water. Sounds fairly standard from Water through Whole Lot of Leavin'.

I really wish I liked army of one..sigh.. is just does nothing for me. If I do see it live I hope it changes my mind.

GabrielC 04-15-2013 05:58 AM

Lame. They should stick to What's Left of Me (or What's Left of Us, by RonJovi).

It's weird. I love and hate that song. Music is pretty cool. The melody isn't bad, it's just the lyrics I can't stand. I would like to see it live though.

Captmorgs 04-15-2013 06:21 AM

I don't have all the songs. But they've played the new ones I mentioned, Superman Tonight, and Have A Nice Day.

Jayster 04-15-2013 06:38 AM

Is it over?

I believe it is. Here were the listed audibles:

In These Arms
Always
What's Left of Me
Treat Her Right
Old Time Rock & Roll

I don't think In These Arms or Always were played. Not sure about the rest.

Captmorgs 04-15-2013 06:47 AM

I don't think any of the audibles were played. Amen was not on the printed setlist, but Jon pointed at someone's sign (OMG, where was Matt?) and they played it.

Jayster 04-15-2013 06:51 AM

Do you know what the encore was?
