"Love always wins. Our hearts are with Boston"
Quote from tonight, not trying to pull something out of thin air (Colorado pun) but perhaps this came before/during LTOR? If it was played, it's during encore based timeline of tweets Multiple encores in this one, not just one and out |
Dry county, Blood on blood and Saturday night were the encore treats. No always. Last Man Standing

Just got in! Epic night! I had a great view and on my way to ask the FOH for a setlist, I met Obie and chatted a moment and he gave me a JBJ pick! Full review tomorrow, also, Follow was played.

Wow! What a great show. The crowd was on fire, and the band was super into it. Jon was like a little kid up there.

Livin' on a Prayer 25. Blood on Blood 26. Someday I'll Be Saturday Night Water worked out as an opener much better than I was expecting. While waiting for the show to start, I actually felt like Bad Name would return as the opener. But alas, it was Water. My favorite song off the new record, was very powerful live and kicked ass. However the extended outro went on a little long for being the opening song. I wish Born to Be My Baby wasn't that early in the set. To be honest, I probably could have done without it. I was stoked to see Raise Your Hands since it wasn't played at the last 2 shows I went to. Crowd was very into it. Phil X is awesome. Lost Highway and Whole Lot of Leaving went over pretty well for the Denver crowd. WLOL is one of my favorite Jovi songs, and although I've gotten it 4/4 shows I've been to, I felt the song was there as a tribute to Richie so it felt pretty powerful. I was wondering if Runaway was going to be played or not, kind of an interesting spot for it. BWC is a pretty big radio hit here in Denver so the crowd ate that one up. What About Now sounded awesome live. Jon gave a brief speech about the Boston tragedy and how despite the terrorism & cowardice displayed in the tragedy, the good people in the world will always outweigh the bad. I love the stage production during that song. Also glad that I decided to change tickets from behind the stage. WGIGO and Keep the Faith are the same every time. The outro jam to KTF was nice though. Haven't seen Memory or Bed of Roses live in a while so those were both okay. IBTFY went over huge, everyone was singing along. Personally I'm kind of over it and it doesn't feel the same without Richie. I was super happy to hear Last Man Standing! I was bummed that almost everyone around me, who stood up throughout the three slow songs and didn't get up to go to the restroom/get another beer, sat down when they started playing LMS. But I enjoyed it nonetheless. The stage production for it is pretty cool. I like Born to Follow as a song but fell flat live tonight. Who Says was pretty standard, Jon set his guitar down and went into an "It's alright" frenzy. All the fanclub girls in the pit had "It's Alright" signs, and Jon reached out and grabbed one and kept holding it up to the crowd. Sleep When I'm Dead kept the crowd going. Dancing in the Streets and Start Me Up (with his Jagger walking) went over well. Bad Medicine was pretty standard as well. Shout teaser in the middle had the crowd going nuts. Was wondering what kind of encore it would be. I was hoping to hear In These Arms and Always, as I've never seen either live. But I never expected to hear the opening notes of Dry County. What a huge surprise! Sounded great, and Phil X completely shredded the solo. I got a video of the solo, hopefully I can get that posted. Wanted with the crowd singing the first verse. HAND is one of my all-time favorite songs and was a great performance. I love the Smirk logo getting projected on the crowd. Phil X rocking out like crazy during the song. Prayer was LOUD. The acoustic guitar intro is a nice refreshing change from the usual intro. Crowd singing so loud during the end. I noticed Jon never said "good night", and although the band walked down the stairs, Jon came back up and signaled the band back for another encore. Sweet! The opening riff to Blood on Blood roared out. Heck yeah, Phil! Another great performance. At the end it was clear they were going to do at least one. Jon was looking at David and I swear I saw David mouth "Always", so I got really excited. But he kept his acoustic guitar on. I was expecting ILTT, but thankfully it was Saturday Night. Perfect song to end on. My seats were great. We were so close! The band sounded tight, Phil was great. Jon was energetic the whole time, however maybe it was just where we were sitting but his vocal mix sounded painfully nasal at times. Not really a big deal, he just sounded a much higher pitch than I'm used to hearing in Youtube recordings etc. The production of the tour was great, it is definitely much more reduced than in past tours. Hardly any video in the 2nd half of the show. None whatsoever in the encore. Even better to walk out of the arena and find that the snowstorm did not hit yet, so getting home quickly and safely was possible. |
