Official June 12 2013, Cardiff City Stadium, Cardiff Thread

6. Born To Be My Baby
7. Always
8. I Got the Girl
9. Just Older
10. Wild in the Streets
11. Blaze of Glory
12. Lay Your Hands on Me
13. Keep The Faith
14. Bad Medicine - Shout

15. These Days
16. Someday I'll Be Saturday Night

17. I'll Sleep When I'm Dead
18. Tequila

lived in Wales for 4 years. If I were still there I'd be thrilled. hopefully it'll be a great one. there's a lof of BJ fans in Cardiff. even indie rock fans like myself would gladly listen to some BJ every no and then so I wouldn't be surprised if it sells out :) here's hoping for the best.

i was thrilled when i found out. was already planning on travelling around UK to see a show but to come here was even better!

nrm123 05-21-2013 06:58 PM

When the date was announced I was baffled why they didn't go with the millennium stadium but Rhianna is there 2 days before and with the venue changes I doubt they would fill half of the millennium

nrm123 05-24-2013 02:31 PM

Anyone going to this got their tickets? On see tickets all of the other uk mid June gigs are over 90% dispatched but cardiff is still 0

semigoodlookin 05-24-2013 05:04 PM

Man, I was at that show and the only songs I remember are Raise Your Hands and Never Say Goodbye, and until reading the set just now I though Raise Your Hands was the opener.

That set was a little short, but that is a great set imo, there are plenty of shorter shows this tour with not half as good a set list as that.

I remember that 2001 show the crowd was shit, did anyone else go who could confirm if that was the case or was I just too blasted. I think there were a ton of casuals there, and I remember until Prayer come on it was a bit quite, something tells me Jon was trying to get more from the crowd. That show is a haze though.

2001 in Cardiff was my first Bon Jovi show. Remember the crowd being pretty loud, probably helped that they only sold about 30,000 tickets so the stage was brought forward to the halfway line with the roof shut which keeps the noise in.

The other thing I remember is that Never Say Goodbye was completely unplanned, but some local, pissed up guy ran on stage with an inflatable guitar and cowboy hat and said 'thank you cardiff' in to the mic as the band were walking off stage after prayer!!! Jon couldnt let it finish like that, so him and Richie did the song, just the two of them, magic!

My word. I remember the stage was moved, but I thought the attendance was announced at 48.000, and it was just shy of the half way line I think? Either way it is not important. Maybe because it was your first show the crowd seemed louder to you, then again perhaps it was anyway, but I vaguely remember Jon pushing a lot for crowd participation.

Like I said sadly I don't remember much, but that set looks good. I remember Jon riding the camera on Raise Your Hands and breathing on it and wiping it? I had no clue that a guy run on stage, but I do sort of recall an inflatable guitar. I do remember the Never Say Goodbye though, and was indeed very magical.

Thinking, maybe I am right about the crowd because that set is way short, it is 20 songs long (not counting the medleys).

At least one concert of the European tour will have a proper support act!

Hicks 06-03-2013 06:27 PM

Considering getting a train from Bristol for this next Wednesday with a couple of friends, and then just seeing if we can get some cheap last minute tickets. Recent performances and the lack of Sambora led me not to bother getting tickets for this tour, but I fancy showing up and chancing it for cheap, as the Cardiff 2001 show was the first time I saw them.

My question is: has anyone done this before? What sort of prices should I be looking for? I know cheap tickets were available for the 02 shows, but I've little experience in this area.

I don't think you'll get anything better than the "lucky dip" that's being offered by See & Ticketmaster.
The offers that are out there at the moment will be the only ones and I certainly don't think we'll see £5 tickets like we did for the O2.

Thanks, I was thinking more of buying off touts minutes before the start. But thinking about it, wouldn't the venue start dropping the prices the moment the show starts anyway? I know a few times I've gotton to shows late, we've been waved in without needing the tickets at all if it's general standing, typically this is if the show is selling under I believe.

So we are travelling by car to this show. I have heard nightmares from footballing friends about the length of time it takes to get out of the car park after a match. Assuming the same would apply here, where do those with local knowledge suggest we park? Am thinking of parking at St David's Centre (very cheap, plenty of places to eat before hand) and walking. Guess it is about 1.5 miles? Thoughts local bods? Thanks in advance.

Yvonne 06-04-2013 11:04 PM

I reckon Groupon will make an appearence for tickets at this show too...

I've a feeling Groupon is going to make a lot of appearances for tickets all over Europe. They used it for the second leg in America as well yet couldn't sell all their tickets over there despite some tickets going for $12,50 I say bring on those prices for Europe, it'd make going by car a lot more interesting. :)

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

depends what time you get there...before 5pm, st davids will be expensive. there are several spots in city centre for £3.50 for 5 hours..then after 6pm its free but its not secure where as st davids is and yes there are loads of restaunts there. walking may be a bit ok if youre up for it then it shouldnt be a problem or get a bus £3.40 for a day ticket

Thanks for this. Think we will go with St Davids then. Not afraid of the walk - we have long legs!!

I reckon you will pick one up off a tout for about £20.00 no problems. I remember wembley in 1995, did the fri, sat, sun. On the monday went to the pub with some mates and decided to do Don Vally stadium in Sheffield that evening, drove up and paid about £20 then and that tour was a sell out. The touts will be pretty cheap cause they know they aint gonna make a lot of money cause the demand isnt there. Good Luck !

Just seen the forecast for Wednesday not looking too good typical.

Just found out this is only the second ever concert to be played in this stadium. Both have been supportedby kids in glass houses

nrm123 06-10-2013 01:25 PM

We are next! Relating to parking if your turning up after 5pm park in st David's 2 for £2 all night and get the bus from around the corner, I don't go by the stadium itself much so can't say what car parks are like round there all I can say is don't leave your car or anything down riverside/grange town.

Looking at my ticket this time GC have a different gate than GA which hopefully means not so early turn up...or just less of a run from the gate :p will be my 2nd jovi gig my friends first gig ever so hoping for a good one

Touts were BUYING for £20 each at Villa Park yesterday. Can't imagine the sold any of them as you could buy at the ticket office.
Personal suggestion - buy via Groupon/AEG at £32.50 and you may find you get upgraded.

I'm pretty much an outcast in my friendship group for being a Bon Jovi fan so am going to Cardiff alone.

Anyone else in a similar position fancy meeting up?

Hope Jon is in the mood to get wet tomorrow! RAIN, RAIN, RAIN!!

These should make an appearence before the weekend, I do live in hope :)

Never Say Goodbye was a welcome addition as no-one was expecting it at all.

'Blaze Of Glory' and 'Lay Your Hands On Me' should be staples in my opinion. Replace 'Sleep' with 'Lay Your Hands' and swap anything for 'Blaze'!
