Hmm, I don't remember the Gillette show being that bad. I don't remember it being particularly good, but not bad either. It was just kinda there.

I was bored to death, really. Halfway through the show Jon kind of woke up during Kid Rock's guest performance, but as soon as Kid Rock left the stage Jon went back to his boring self and it was pretty much autopilot from start to finish with the band sounding off. Once Always was played we left, both saying we'd had enough of Bon Jovi going on auto pilot. I remember being disappointed because it was supposed to be a gift to my girlfriend, yet 1,5 hour into the show we both couldn't wait for it to be over. I told myself it'd be the last time I'd be bothered to go see Bon Jovi play in America.
But it's like I said, I'm just used to better shows. I'd just seen 5 shows in Canada, came back to America and the difference between Toronto (for example) and Foxborough was night and day. That show made me realize that Jon just doesn't care for American audiences, no matter how big or where they are. All Americans thought the shows in Metlife were among the best shows they'd ever seen. I was there with 2 other Europeans and we all agreed they were good, and don't get me wrong, I had a great time with everyone back then, but kept thinking that most shows in Europe were better. It's just a matter of what you're used to, and Bon Jovi are fortunate that not many fans in America have seen what they're capable of in other territories.
Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
