The last time Bon Jovi played Cape Town was November 28, 1995. Bon Jovi were supposed to come back in 2008, then 2010, yet now finally the band has made it back. The biggest surprises in a setlist in late 1995 were Dry County, Never Say Goodbye I'll Be There For You and With A Little Help From My Friends.

Now, on to speculate as to whether the band is happy or not, will welcome Richie back, Richie and Jon will look at eachother during the show, Jon will give Richie stink eyes, let the speculation begin!

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

It will be interesting to see the stage set up too. Like the front end of a Buick was what Jon said wasn't it??

That was in Europe, I don't know if they'll use it in South Africa.

cowboy2002 04-28-2013 07:39 PM

Seb, where did you manage to find a photo of Richies new girlfriend that he's got pregnant?!

I bet that topic title caught your attention, didn't it? What's my source? I can't say, so call me a twat when he doesn't show up, but let's celebrate the news now, shall we? I received the news 2 days ago, didn't want to break it yet, but here we are. Even South Africans are more important than Amurrecans, so you gotta ask yourselves, how low have you sunk, Americans?

Strange, my source tells me they are nearly there but not quite yet. I hear it's a 95% chance that RS is on the plane; hence Matt's uncertainty with the fundraiser and Phil's lack of closure...

Someone on the 'No Richie on the current leg' thread just posted that Phil X's May 18 show with his own band is now canceled...

ezearis 04-28-2013 11:43 PM

This is strange, my source tells me that Jon's project of cloning Bobby Bandiera so he could have one as lead guitar and another as rhythm guitar is at the final stage of developing. The clone should be there for the Capetown gig.

That is very strange...

I actually spoke to Seb's 'source'. Here's how you can do the same...

Put these things together...

- That it was stated all along that Richie was only going to miss this leg.
- That Richie has come out of 'hiding'
- That there has been no further announcement to say Richie isn't coming back as previously stated.

Then what you do is, when someone questions it, you say 'If you don't want to believe I have an inside source, then don't. What am I risking? I will be the one who looks like a tool if my source turns out to be wrong but they are well-placed. I don't have to prove anything to anyone.'

Sorry but when Jon's own brother is unsure about Richie's commitments over the next two weeks, I am going to ere on the side of caution...

Now that we've covered that objective piece of information, I have no data for the last time Bon Jovi played Cape Town. I might receive a setlist within the next few weeks but so far, nothing yet.

As much as I want Richie back more than anything, is it wrong for me to admit I would like to see at least one show with Phil X?

The amount of American bashing on this board by non Americans makes me believe that you all are just pissed that you're not American. Either admit it, or stop the bashing. I bet you'd feel the same way if all non Europeans on this board constantly bashed Europeans. I know there is nothing really mean behind it, but I'm tired of coming on here and hearing rude jokes about Americans >_>

Hahaha oh dear. I'm not one for needless xenophobia and bigotry and I agree with your overall point, but "The amount of American bashing on this board by non Americans makes me believe that you all are just pissed that you're not American"... come on now.

I agree that the amount of insults toward we Americans, whether they be jocular or otherwise, are getting tiring. But to say that they are pissed that they're NOT American makes you sound like you sound like you just got a blowjob from an eagle playing baseball.

Doubts regarding Stage Set

I sincerely doubt we will see the outdoor stage set in Cape Town and Johannesburg. The reason: Justin Bieber is scheduled to perform in Cape Town on May 8 and in Johannesburg on May 12. Guess what - he will perform in the same stadiums. How could the Bon Jovi crew possibly decompose a stage of such caliber within a single night? Because I highly doubt that Jon will let Justin Bieber use their own stage set.

Any thoughts on this?

You can't make jokes the same way about Europeans like Europeans make jokes about Americans, because Europeans are awesome, and Americans are not.

The odd thing is that I could make the same jokes with Americans about Americans when I was in America (and they even joined in), yet on the internetz there seem to be a vaste amount of Americans incapable of looking at "their own people" and acknowledging why certain jokes are made. And to be fair, I don't think comparing a hippo to a fat American girl isn't really rude, it's just downright silly. If stuff like that offends you, then yeah, it's no wonder you get frustrated about the jokes about America.

And as for Richie being there, yes Beaky, I understand your suspicious behavior towards the news coming from me, but this is what I heard. I can be wrong, the news is 4 days old now, things can change, but I felt like sharing it.

Rolo's Photoshop makes this topic worth everything though.

Jon cut a deal with Bieber, he let him use one of their stages (they always have 2), thus getting a bit of money for it as Justin Bieber doesn't need to ship a huge stage to South Africa, which would save him money. After Biebers show the stage gets shipped to Europe. One is already being build up in Vienna and the other one from South Africa ends up in Sofia. Or the other way around. :)

Sebastiaan
