Starting all over again

First off I wanna say i absolutely love the song. The version on the KTF Japan-edition (correct me if i'm wrong) is one hell of a song if I might say. I'm not so sure how I feel about the version included on the box set as it seems that Jon struggles a lot with it, so the feeling the KTF-version has isn't quite there.

What's the deal with re-recording the song (as it seems the boxset-version is "newer" basing on Jons voice), and including that version, instead of the KTF-version? Is it because the original version was released in Japan, and the box only (?) contains unreleased tracks?

Can someone shed a light on this for me?

I haven't seen any thread or post about this so if posted before I apologize!

Thanks!

top of my head as i remember,

the version on the boxset included the guiding vocals, when you record a song you record vocals on wich all the instruments are recorded on.

After that they re-record vocals in different takes.

the released b-side of starting all over again is a completed demo...

KTF,

Nick

Awesome Tune! It had that 80's vibe to it....

KTF was intended to be a double album at this would have been one of the gems included.

Are you sure about that? I've never heard anything about it. I know New Jersey was supposed to be a double album.

Negative. Keep The Faith was never supposed to be a double album. Starting All Over Again was a bonus track for Japan and that's it. belgium_BON_JOVI_fan is spot on with his comment in regards to why Jon sounds so rough, though the music isn't from the demo but from the touched up version. I don't think we'll ever hear the full demo.

Positive!

Q. Wasn't "Keep The Faith" supposed to have been a double album?
- Yes, but the personnel over at Polygram thought that it would never
sell and convinced the band to cut it to a single CD. All the leftover
tracks were released as B-sides.

Great source, a Q&A done by a fan, but it's incorrect. Not a single leftover from the Keep The Faith sessions actually made it as a b-side until the These Days bonus disc showed up with Fields Of Fire on it. Keep The Faith was always supposed to be a single record. The answer you just came up with talks about New Jersey, not Keep The Faith.

And anyway, the opposite of negative in this context is affirmative.
