My feeling is that when they play this set today, but with 10 additional songs, someone will start bitching about it. Although they could actually add to this something in the spirit of :

IML
Have a nice day
Because We Can
Lost Highway
Dry County
Raise Your Hands
In These Arms
We Got it Going On
Love is the only Rule
That's What the Water made me

So how would that be ?

Your feeling is wrong and shows you haven't picked up much from the critisism people have been posting on here. If they'd however play that exact set today it'd sound absolutely dreadful. Jon singing Helter Skelter nowadays? No thanks.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Yep. Very different band now compared to 1995. I saw them in 1996 at Milton Keynes on the these days tour and vocally it could be a different singer by comparison. Also as a band the energy was electric. Sadly as with anything time passes and people age. That said this band still have the ability to pull something out of the bag. Phil X looking better now too. Much better dry county solo in Cape Town... also his backing vocals are coming through stronger. Hope Johannesburg gets a good show, it's been a long time.

Johannesburg hasn't had the joy of hearing "Captain Crash" and "I Love This Town" in a live scenario. Wait for it! :-)

By the way, that version of "Helter Skelter", which I heard as a b-side of "These Days" for the first time, and then in Frankfurt 1996 where it also opened the show, made me play it with my band a couple of years later. So much energy and the coolest cover version I've yet found! Prefer it over U2, Aerosmith, Ian Gillan etc.

Keeping an eye on Twitter at moment.
General opinion is that it's too bloody cold for a stadium gig.

LOL - people been saying that since 7.05 UK/8.05 Jo'burg!
If they start at 9pm in Europe all hell will let loose as it indicates short sets.

That depends, in Italy, Spain and Lisbon they're not as strict as the U.K. I've no idea what the curfew (if there is one) in Johannesburg is though.

1. That's What The Water Made Me
2. You Give Love A Bad Name

I can't think of nothing worse (for me) than opening with a cover. Plus I hate helter shelter. - whoever is singing it.
