I would literally kill to hear Bells of Freedom at a show. Well, almost. :)

jessycardy 05-18-2013 02:22 AM

I would sell my soul for a setlist like this. Seriously, where do I sign?

TwinFan 05-18-2013 02:39 AM

Great cover.

My thought is that it wont. Last show in Munich was really average at best, and frankly quite boring, despite the set looking rather good on paper. 2008's show in Munich was good, but not one of the best shows of the European tour either, and neither was 2006's show. All had pretty good setlists, but none had the best performances of the tour.

I predict this setlist:

01. Happy Now
02. The Radio Saved My Life Tonight
03. Runaway
04. Everyday
05. Pictures of You
06. Always
07. This Ain't A Love Song
08. Born To Be My Baby
09. Wild In The Streets
10. Have A Nice Day
11. Misunderstood
12. Unbreakable
13. It's My Life
14. The Distance
15. Lie To Me
16. Keep The Faith
17. The Price Of Love
18. Brokenpromiseland
19. These Days

Encore I:
20. Hey God
21. Last Man Standing
22. Neurotica
23. Bounce
24. Livin' On A Prayer

Encore II:
25. Lay Your Hands On Me (with drum intro)
26. Blood On Blood
27. Bad Medicine (with snippets of "Rocking All Over The World" and "Pretty Woman")
28. Never Say Goodbye (electric)

After all, Phil takes away his face "skin" showing that it was Richie all the time and Bobby resigns to the band. The crowd goes insane.

Encore III:
29. Every Road Leads Home To You
30. Seven Years Gone
31. In These Arms (David Bryan vox)
32. Blaze of Glory (with Blood Money intro)
33. Wanted Dead Or Alive

But setlist wise, it DID set the bar of the tour. The Munich concert was the first one who got this setlist and this was the setlist, which (with a few rarities here and there) was repeated in most of their 'big' European 2011 shows, like London, Udine, Bucharest, Vienna and maybe a couple others. It wasn't until the final 3 shows that they changed the encore. So I think this show will be a good indication of what a strong European setlist will look like.

My prediction - not much different from Cape Town and Johannesburg, probably with These Days (or Hey God), considering how the former one was on heavy rotation in the previous European leg and the later was on audibles, but never played. Maybe a previously dropped song from WAN returns, like What's Left Of Me or I'm With You.

It may not have been the set/show of the tour in recent years but its the show where alot of die hards go and expect to have a kick ass show. This time round its the first "big" show of tour where people can see whether or not Jon/the band are going to make the effort with the sets going forward from today.

Yvonne 05-18-2013 10:31 AM

And for anyone interested...

Fond memories of the 2011 show, first show away from UK and Ireland and I had a blast!! Was awesome weather too and 3 hr set list made it.............especially the last encore which did not seem planned although it probably was!!

JerseyGiant 05-18-2013 01:12 PM

Keen for Munich! I member watching the stream last time around and loved bad medicine with the covers :)

Bounce7800 05-18-2013 01:15 PM

I enjoyed last tours gig in Munich, I remember managing to catch the whole webcast during the extended red flag period of the Canadian GP which was very handy timing.

Here's hoping for a decent, long show with a different WAN track and a new rarity thrown in.

And surely someone should do a PBP.

Of course! Wasn't the race delayed for a few hours? If I remember button stole the lead on the last lap? That was a good day :)

Yeah, the rain delay followed by hours of empty track & bird watching followed by Button merking Vettel on the last lap! Good times

GC is now being formed on the webcam, always a normal size in mainland Europe, by the time they reach the UK its doubled in size.

Fredrik 05-18-2013 03:09 PM

I enjoyed Munich in 2011. No, it wasn't the strongest and/or best show of the European -11 leg but it was at the very least in the upper ranges of that leg.

fairtex444 05-18-2013 03:39 PM

so , again GA is divided in two sections....

KeepTheFaith2211 05-18-2013 07:36 PM

Okay seeing as someone's messing around with setlists, I'll throw my attempt in.

1. That's What The Water Made Me
2. You Give Love A Bad Name
3. One Wild Night
4. Because We Can
5. Lost Highway
6. Keep The Faith
7. Blood On Blood
8. I'll Be There For You
9. Bed Of Roses
10. Runaway
11. We Got It Going On
12. Amen
13. What About Now
14. Lay Your Hands On Me
15. It's My Life
16. Have A Nice Day
17. Bad Medicine
18. Livin' On A Prayer

19. Dry County
20. Wanted Dead Or Alive

[[[21. Always
22. Blaze Of Glory
23. These Days
24. Someday I'll Be Saturday Night]]] * Throw in this encore if the crowd are good/band are having fun?

I think they could play that and send most of the crowd home happy. Something like that would work for me and it's not even that much different to what they're doing. I even included 'What About Now' songs as, apparently, they need to do those songs (haha!).

You honestly believe Jon could sing Always and then 3 more songs, 1 of which is These Days? Would be great, but that's way too vocally demanding for him anymore.

He doesn't have to sing them well.

Also, 'Wanted Dead Or Alive' was the end of my original setlist. The second encore is just an add on.

Going by how he's been singing Always lately I'd say he'd wind up not singing the other 3 songs at all. Your main set is still almost as bad as what's being offered right now though.

Play By Play. It's basically when someone attending the show lets the rest of the world know what songs are being played in real time. So people on boards get to discuss about it.
