You're more likely to hear Smack My Bitch Up or a full set of Vivaldi's Four Seasons.

Hope you're going to update this with the actual setlist right after the show :p

I loved that 2008 Hampden show - despite the terrible rain - however I'm not expecting anything like we got at Murrayfield last tour in terms of rare songs. I'd love This Ain't A Love Song as it's the only thing I'm chasing, but just can't see it happening this time around.

But Hampden's atmosphere has been incredible every time I've been, Murrayfield and Ibrox can't match it. Hoping for a good one.

KeepTheFaith2211 06-19-2013 12:52 AM

I'm going to this one and I'm unbelievably excited.

sunderland was amazing and I hope this one will be even better. I'm not expecting anything special or rare, but if they fancy doing any of the treats they did at Murrayfield or even the likes of 'Blaze Of Glory' from their last Hampden show, then yes please!

Heh, I'd honestly be happy with Blaze. One song I'll never, ever get tired of. They can play that at my funeral :)

Agreed. It's level with 'Keep The Faith' in terms of my favourite song associated with the band/band members.

I think my phone battery will be goosed after the show. 2008 is the 2nd best I've seen the band after OWN tour at Hampden.

There is something special about this venue. I get a shiver up my spine whenever I go through the turnstile, be it a gig or a football match! There's nothing like the Hampden roar!

I'm not expecting to hear my choice of rarities, but I can hope!

MrBrownstone 06-19-2013 08:37 PM

I cant wait for the gig Scottish gigs are always great however I hate Hampden its a terrible venue for football and gigs. Its a freezing cold stadium that cant hold at atmosphere due to the angles the stands were built at.

Will always remember 2008 gig there for my friends in Logan opening the show it was great watching a band progress from playing to 30 people in Barfly to 30,000 in Hampden and hear them all sing along with "When I Get Down".

Yeah Logan were pretty good - are they still together?

Hampden does have atmosphere, but it's a bit out of the way from the city and looks like a rust bucket from the outside. They also don't sell the seats where the Saltire is, as this is for GA ticket holders to rest their weary legs if required. This makes it look like it's never sold out and I do always wonder if JBJ is looking at the empty seats going "WTF?"

Ibrox was worse though - that was a bad gig. A very strange crowd and a pretty tame performance by the band. When they started playing Joey, the place was silent and I was right down the front and screamed 'Oh No, NOT JOEY'. Hopefully Jon heard.

I would have loved to have seen the band at Glasgow Green or Belahouston Park!

MrBrownstone 06-20-2013 03:22 PM

Yeah Logan are still together they took a cpl of years out due to record label problems and had a cll of member changes. They are currently writing their next album and will be touring shortly.

crap seats????

It brings up Q5 for £12.50 tickets which is in the highest tier, furthest away from the stage... you need binoculars!

From previous experience with production seats for both concerts and tv shows they are:

a) tickets that production crew were given the opportunity to purchase, but didn't all get sold
b) for areas in a venue that were previously expected not to be available due to layout of stage etc. but are now available as they are not obstructed.

Blame it on the love would be awesome!

I'll be tweeting a few requests to the band on the day. Not that I expect them to be noticed right enough!

I was in the GC for this gig, loved it! Couldn't have cared less about the rain!

Still undecided if I'm gonna go again this time round, probably just do GA if anything. Will see how I feel nearer the time.

Is anyone else kinda hoping a lot of people take banners with 'Hey God', 'Let It Rock', 'Wild Is The Wind', 'Out Of Bounds', 'Love Lies' and 'Hardest Part Is The Night (Acoustic)' to Glasgow in light of last night's request taking?

Somebody should try with something like Rivers Runs Dry or Real Life.

Of course I was kidding with the last few ;)

Still...I am so excited for this show. I just can't wait. A special song or two would be lovely but if the performance is as good as sunderland, I don't care either way!

Jim Bon Jovi 06-23-2013 11:53 PM

I'm going and tbh I really don't care.

No doubt I'll be right up for it on the night but at Murrayfield I was G'd up for weeks and with this one (even though I'm looking forward to seeing Phil x) sandwhiched in between Bruce last week and Roger Water's in September, it pales in comparison.

I've got hospitality tickets so will be up in the stands but they're usually decent seats when I take that option for gigs.

The only thing is that I'm catching a bus to Spain from London the next morning so me and the Mrs will be heading fromt he gig right into Central to catch the sleeper so it's going to be a bit stressful on that account. We're off to Pamplona to run with the bulls and for a laugh I'm considering wearing my white running get up :)

Lol, I did Pamplona a couple of years ago, same bus journey from London to Spain. Had a great time, is an odd feeling you get when you hear the firework go off to tell you the bulls are on their way.

yeah I'm really looking forward to it though understandably apprehensive.

I get the opportunity to do the run on 2 mornings but if I get the 1st one out of the way I think I'll spectate the 2nd one.

Going to try and get tickets for the bullfights too.

How long was the bus journey? I've just driven home from Aviemore and that was bad enough never mind being stuck on a bus full of people going to Spain.

If you're getting the train back to the city centre, go to King's park station. The trains leave on the hour and half hour from there. Avoid Mount Florida station as the queue is always massive. There won't be a queue at King's park.

I'm a stones throw from Burnside station so King's Park is the one I get off and get on at.

TBH I'm assuming we'll be away before the encore unless they're on fire because it's going to be tight time wise.

Jayster 06-24-2013 04:38 AM

Tickets in almost every category are still available....

Telling you that was like teaching your Granny to suck eggs! Hopefully it'll help out a few others!

MrBrownstone 06-24-2013 08:42 PM

Learned from going to plenty of Scotland games never to go to Mount Florida station. You'd be quicker walking back in to the city centre than waiting in that queue.

The Gold Circle are already reduced for Hampden & Hyde Park directly from SeeTickets.
I wouldn't be too surprised to see a Groupon deal for GA tickets at Hyde Park too in the next week or so.

Jim Bon Jovi 06-27-2013 07:50 PM

As much as I like them, why are We Were Promised Jetpacks supporting?

Makes no sense musically or draw wise. Suppose it's another case of Jovi cheaping out. Just don't tell me there's some shite competition winner too?

Who's supported them on the other legs in the UK?

Typical lazy journalism by the Day-Late Retard. Its no wonder I stopped reading that paper years ago.

Just found out I'm supposed to pick my tickets up at Hampden despite being told they'd be posted - pain in the ass!
