The last time Bon Jovi played Prague was September 4, 1993. The setlist contained no surprises, apart from it being shorter than usual.

No line graph due to unavailable chart information

Bon Jovi have tried to play Prague multiple times afterwards, but no gig ever really happened. As a matter of fact, the European leg of the 1995 tour was supposed to end in Prague, but the show was cancelled a few months after tickets had gone on sale due to it ending up in a financial disaster on behalf of the promoters. Various websites list this show as having taken place, but this is incorrect.

More information can be found here: http://www.bonjovi-archives.com/09_T.../19950709.html

There has been talk of a show in Prague with pretty much every tour ever since, and finally organisers seem to have gotten in right, despite it being in a smaller venue than originally hoped for.

I reckon this show will be similar to Berlin and the likes.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Hi everybody, here are some other details about the show/venue.

VENUE
Capacity for the concert is approx. 30,000 (more about the Eden Arena).

TICKETS
Tickets are still available through the Eventim.cz site, even for DC/GC sectors. The show will definitely not be sold out (although the seating sectors are almost filled).

SUPPORT BAND
Support for the show is the Czech pop band called Support Lesbiens (yes, you read it right. Don't ask ;) ). For example, their current single you can find .

SCHEDULE (CET/UTC+1 time zone):
Here is the official concert schedule provided by ticket seller. The show will end approx. at 22:00 because of the night silence rule (venue is right next to the residential area).

17:00 Opening of the arena
18:00 Opening-band Support Lesbiens
19:00 BON JOVI
22:00 Official end of the concert

WEATHER FORECAST
Well, that will be definitely interesting :)

letha 06-23-2013 03:18 PM

Looks like the band is spending the day off in Prague already - http://instagram.com/philx1111 ..

bonjovi90 06-23-2013 04:26 PM

Yeah they left Cologne by plane at 11:30 last night.

Johny 06-24-2013 12:36 AM

Thanks Seb for starting the thread.

It's quite a historic moment for us here. I hope the show will be decent, enough people will show up, they'll have a good time (Czech people are a strange audience) and the weather won't that bad as they predict. I personally hope for a rarity (something like they did yesterday, something unxpected rather than the obvious "rare" songs).

I'm quite pissed right now. I was so close to being in a TV during in backstage. My friend works for Prima Family TV and her colleague needed someone to film a reportage in backstage plus a free access to the show. Unfortunately I was late with my reply because I was in Austria on a trip and connected to the internet at the evening at the hotel.

Johny 06-24-2013 12:32 PM

Seems like nobody really cares about this show.

I'll try to update the setlist during the show. I don't have twitter so I'll try to post it here. If there's interest.

Actually, I do care. Prague is a beautiful city and for some reason I expected the show for tonight being better than average. I did expect the same of Stuttgart as well though, so that theory goes right out of the window now. :p

DevilsSon 06-24-2013 03:14 PM

god, that opening band sounds dreadful. Where do they find these acts?!?

Yeah, I don't like them. I even didn't like them when they were the real Support Lesbiens. Now it's just the guitarist with a new band who was quick to register the name... so the rest of the original line-up has to use a new name. Those are supposed to be their best tunes: and

Thanks. Shame you don't come. I hope there is another show in the future which is with Richie so you people'll come. But what can we say now about the future?

Meh, I'm sure there'll be other bands to see together, or other times I'll make it over to Prague. We'll meet up again sometime. :)

Sebastiaan

I guess that means Jon will come out all wrapped up with his throat already out of kilter.

Supersonic 06-24-2013 08:22 PM

Aloha !

Thierry just texted me about half an hour ago, said the stadium was on half full and the weather is terrible. Being the positive guru that he is, he's expecting a short show.

Johny just texted me as well;
1. That's What The Water Made Me
2. You Give Love A Bad Name
3. Raise Your Hands
4. Lost Highway
5. The Radio Saved My Life Tonight
6. It's My Life
7. Because We Can
8. What About Now

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

'Seems alright so far. I love 'Radio' being back, and 'Lost Highway' after it is awesome (I know I'm the only one).

Not the only one

Bounce7800 06-24-2013 09:37 PM

Really wish WAN would be rotated with another new song like Beautiful World or What's Left Of Me. Although, would still be a piss break for most of the crowd either way, Jon should get out on the catwalk and sell that one to try and keep the crowd out of the bogs

Yeah! and surprisingly have returned to play "You Give Love a Bad Name" and "what about now". This caught me by surprise, I'm serious.:o

Speaking of surprises...when are you gonna mix it up mate? You're more autopilot than Bon Jovi's setlists, after all.

Supersonic 06-24-2013 10:09 PM

Aloha !

The show is done, according to Johny the only surprises were Radio, a full rendition of Shout and Love's The Only Rule. I've no further details and I told him he could stop sending me texts considering no one was paying attention here anyway.

Sebastiaan

It's weird...nobody seems bothered after getting the best setlist of the tour two days ago.

Bounce7800 06-24-2013 10:12 PM

Probably the time difference catching us all out, it's over earlier than some of them have been starting.

Did you get the full setlist?

bjcrazycpa 06-24-2013 10:13 PM

Finished really early isn't it at only 9:13 p.m.? When did the show start?

Sissy3 06-24-2013 10:18 PM

Maybe due to the weather? They said earlier it was raining cats and dogs.

The big surprise with Rolo is that now he didn't mention Saint Richie of Perth Amboy, Virgin and Martyr.

Time difference shouldn't be catching anyone out - it's same difference to rest of mainland Europe (UK+1)

Oh right, I assumed it was +2 given that it supposedly finished at 8.11pm our time! Although there's been zero on Twotter about the show so will have to wait and see what comes out.

milomom 06-24-2013 10:29 PM

According to a tweet I saw, it started at 7:10.

Dave88 06-24-2013 10:32 PM

They've just played This Ain't a love song.

It's ok, there's still time for the show to take an upturn and Jon to Love that town!

Oh that's right, you are one of the few that hate this song. I'll never understand that but I know the songs I like are normally not the norm. But, can't say that about this one. It is a bit depressing but dang, I love this song. Such conviction in those lyrics and the melody is just superb to me.

Bounce7800 06-24-2013 10:48 PM

I am crossing my fingers, toes and balls that it stays in the set for Hyde Park.

Well there are other songs at the top of my "songs I wanna hear" list, but I certainly would be happy with TAALS. ;)
