This Left Feels Right

This was an album I hadn't heard. After hearing about how bad it was, I had to download it and have a listen, and...

I have just lost 30 minutes of my life that I will never get back. Couldn't even make it through the whole album. What the hell did I just listen to, and what the hell was Jon thinking when he decided to churn out that crap?

This left doesn't feel right. It just feels totally wrong.

Yeah, this is one I don't physically own, and probably wouldn't even accept it for free. Yikes.

The only thing I like about this record are bits and pieces of Wanted. I find the arrangement quite intriguing and I like the big-ass John Bonham sounding drums. Then again, those vocals come in and ruin it. Would love to hear the proper version, with a similar drum arrangement. Would add even more edge to what is already easily the best song of the 80s.

But yes - overall - what on Earth were they thinking FFS???!??

Well still TLFR is much better than WAN :P

Good idea poorly executed. It's My Life and Everyday are very listenable and the live version of The Distance is excellent. Other than that...

My biggest gripe with the album is Bed of Roses, Always and I'll Be There For You. To have turned those songs on their heads they should have done something really different with them. Similar to what Robbie Williams did with Back For Good years ago.

I think 'I'll Be There For You' and 'Always' are decent, but mainly because they're not that different to the originals.

You know, I'll be honest. When it was released, I listened to it non-stop and enjoyed it. It was the CD that I listened to in the car. I turned it off after a few weeks, hadn't listen for a while and on the first listen upon return to the CD, I didn't enjoy it anymore. I just skipped through the whole CD and haven't listened ever again.

Exactly how I feel about it. Great concept, but IMO they made everything sound too much alike. They should have really gotten creative and tried many different sounds. I went to the two shows they did at the Borgata in NJ for this album and enjoyed them even though I was sick at the time. (Every time I go to NJ I get bronchitis.) Not long after I got home, my father died, so that's what I associate with this album now and I can't listen to it anymore. I don't know that I'd want to listen to it anymore anyway though.

TLFR is crap. I only own it as I got it free from label. Utter plop - other than the version of Its My Life.
