Hopefully Detroit can get a good show, but something tells me it will be more reminiscent of the Soldier Field show than any European show.

BonJoviFan14 07-16-2013 06:05 AM

I am going to be at this show I am so excited this will be my first time seeing Bon Jovi.

Rated_R_Ron 07-16-2013 06:22 AM

A Soldier Field carbon copy set list will be better than this 2010 set list. Yikes!

MJB12 07-16-2013 10:42 AM

That setlist from last time has 7 songs from the Circle. That's gotta be the most Circle songs ever played in one show. Hopefully Detroit gets a great show.

Just what I wanted to say!
7 might be a bit too much of unknown material for the casuals, but it's good that the band was wanting to push their new songs.
Wish they'd do the same with this tour.
Good show everyone!

bjcrazycpa 07-16-2013 02:10 PM

I actually like that set list but I'm a Bullet and Thorn lover...ha ha!!

Bullet could be a great song, but the "yeah yeah, yeah yeah" makes me wanna puke.

And the way Jon sings the chorus takes all the power out of the song. He should have pushed his vocals a little more, and then this could be a great song.

TCJr12 07-19-2013 04:31 AM

What time does the show start? PBP tonight?

The show has definitely started, but I'm not seeing a setlist anywhere. On a side note, the city of Detroit filed for bankruptcy today, making it the largest US city in history to do so. I bet they get WFTWM tonight for that.

God, just going bankrupt is bad enough, they also will play that song?

Please tell me that wasn't the whole show...

Kriegentragen 07-19-2013 08:03 AM

Setlists like this make me think that Jon wants to end the tour as soon as possible.

Expecting average setlists (at best) from now on, with some occasional sparks of greatness in New Jersey, Argentina and Australia.

MJB12 07-19-2013 08:48 AM

Wow, really? That's kind of a bummer. Hopefully the show was still exciting for those who went.

Quality over quantity.

rightsideofwrong 07-19-2013 09:28 AM

Quality over quantity for sure. I love Sat Night. Such a good live song. 22 songs is a little short but can't say I expected much more for a Thursday in a city that's filing bankruptcy. But the spoiled around here will bitch to be spoiled forever.

SuperBrad 07-19-2013 12:24 PM

Jesus , lame set .

Bounce7800 07-19-2013 01:00 PM

Poor encore. The first US shows set was actually fairly decent, I did think that the US stadium shows would not differ too much from a standard European set after that, but sadly they have chopped that quite badly. Hopefully it's a one off in setlist terms.

As far as encores go I think that's a very good one. The two main hits, plus 'Have A Nice Day' and 'Saturday Night'. Add 'Always' or 'Blaze Of Glory' in and it's perfect in my opinion.

The quality is there, the quantity isn't. Unless the main set is longer, that's a very short set. They really shouldn't be just doing 22 song sets anywhere.

Bill23 07-19-2013 04:11 PM

I agree- short show. He should do 25 songs minimum.

bjcrazycpa 07-19-2013 04:11 PM

Someone on the fanclub website has said that Tico wasn't feeling well and that Jon asked him if he was okay and Tico said no he wasn't. I wonder if that is just rumor or if it was confirmed at all?

golittleperson 07-19-2013 04:52 PM

That was a bit of a weak set? Not read any reviews yet this am. I too saw where Detroit filed BK yesterday - know the people in that area are feeling the financial pain too so was really hoping the guys would crank it up and give them a few hours to escape the real world. At least for me, that is a big part of what music does. Does anyone know a head count yet? I know tickets were still avail. yesterday morning. I'm afraid it may have been weak. The economy still sucks (at least from my view point, people have not recovered), Detroit confirmed their own yesterday plus the missing RS, ...

Take a look at the Sofia set and then tell me what is short and what is not.

LeaJovi 07-19-2013 06:39 PM

There should be a lot more moaning and bitching because of this joke of a set, I guess there aren't many US fans here on the board. Or maybe just they gave up and let Jon laugh at them everytime he crosses the ocean back from Europe?

Also it was sold out? Europe got better sets in non sold out shows than this. How north americans are still fan of BJ is beyond me. At least for us Argentinians they didn't come before because our economy sucks ass.

It is a pathetic set. Surprisingly there is a thread on the FC boards about this not being a good show, so it must have really sucked and not just on paper.

I know you're waiting for someone to bite and respond but my god...

Aloha !

This show was cut short because Tico couldn't go on any longer. There was supposed to be an extra encore but Tico said no to Jon.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Thank you Seb. I had asked that question and wondered if his not feeling well was confirmed and the reason for the shorter set.

Javier 07-19-2013 07:30 PM

Wonder what was up with Tico!!?? :(

ticos_stick 07-19-2013 07:44 PM

Jon could have finished with a few acoustic performances without Tico surely?

The man is 60 now. Maybe it isn't easy for him keep playing 2.5 hours a night anymore.

Maybe he was concerned about Tico though and wanted to be with him. Tico is not a wuss so if he said he couldn't continue then something wasn't right with him for sure.

Becky 07-19-2013 07:59 PM

I wonder what was wrong with Tico. I hope he recovers quickly from whatever it was.
